On Sunday it was surprisingly empty on the water in Hanstholm

Sun, 30 knots of wind and logo-high sets - this Sunday's surf in Hanstholm was a sight to behold. In the picture gallery you can see impressions from Middles.

It was a classic Hanstholm forecast: strong westerly winds paired with perfect weather - you know what you're getting. The fact that it was comparatively empty on the water for a Sunday must have been due to the fact that many windsurfers are currently spending their Easter holidays in the warmer south. And indeed, with temperatures of around eight degrees, thick skins were still the order of the day in Hanstholm, and bonnets and gloves were no disadvantage either.

However, the conditions were definitely heart-warming: in the morning, the wind was still blowing slightly side-offshore and logo-high sets were rolling into the bay - those who caught a good line were able to slice several turns on the smooth wave crests. The conditions were less favourable for jumping this time, as the wind was quite patchy, especially under land. Further out there was a lot of pressure, with 30 to 35 knots of wind, sail sizes between 3.5 and 4.0 were initially the order of the day. Later on, the wind shifted more sideshore and eased a little. It was a great day that made us want to do more - even without gloves.
