That’s it! The 2026 Citroën Windsurf World Cup Sylt is over; all that remains are loads of memories, plenty of stories and some great photos. We’ve picked out some of the best shots!

The atmosphere? Absolutely brilliant! The weather? Mostly sunny. The wind? Well… The waves? There were some of those too. Sylt is still the world’s biggest windsurfing event and the annual highlight of the scene. All disciplines come together, many legends and old friends pop by Brandenburger Strand, and new talent and ideas are born.

Even though the conditions this year weren’t quite as epic and outstanding as in some previous years, the World Cup on Sylt remains a highlight in the calendar. Out on the open water, the freestylers crowned Lennart Neubauer as their new world champion, with the judges watching via drone feed. For the foil racers, it was the first World Cup of the season; Fabian Wolf almost pulled off a late-summer fairy tale. Only the wave riders came away empty-handed; both the women’s and men’s fields waited in vain for enough wind and some waves to start a competition.

But what will remain are the spectacular images that the drones captured of the racing action and the freestyle heats, which were broadcast to the beach and via the live stream. On the beach, Sylt once again treated spectators to stunning sunsets and a colourful programme of events. And the dates for next year have already been confirmed: the 2027 Sylt Windsurfing World Cup will take place from 24 September to 3 October 2027!
