Moods, curiosities and special moments: We have picked out the eye-catching images of the year from the PWA archive!

The year is drawing to a close, the World Cup season has already ended in November and the pros are recovering around the world. So it's time to browse through the PWA 2025 archives once again. Many images and moments were legendary: the epic 50-knot day in Pozo, Sarah-Quita Offringa's double World Championship title on Fuertethat Storm surge finale on Sylt, Marc Paré's World Championship triumph in Hookipa or Justine Lemeteyer's black day with a happy ending in Japan.

But there were also plenty of great moments away from the spotlight on the PWA tour. We have picked out lots of pictures from the archives that may not have made it into the reports on the competitions. Because the riders in the pictures were not at the centre of the action, because the motifs were too special or because they "only" captured the atmosphere and the play of light.

PWA photographer John Carter knows like no other how to take great pictures away from the sport that are perfectly crafted and always have something to discover. He also regularly stages the PWA pros on land - with team photos on the beach, by capturing special moments and with an eye for unique and emotional situations.

This year, JC was supported by "Rafasoulart" and Inna Bru due to injury, who also delivered spectacular pictures!
