boot Düsseldorf is continuing its support for up-and-coming windsurfers. The world's largest water sports trade fair is providing a total of 3,000 euros to reimburse the entry fees for newcomers to the California Windsurf Cup. The "boot Cashback Campaign" has already led to a significant increase in young participants in recent years, according to a statement from Choppy Water, the agency that organises the DWC. According to the statement, more than 40 starters under the age of 21 took part in the DWC and ProAm regattas last year.
"We are delighted with boot Düsseldorf's commitment, which directly benefits the young participants," says Choppy Water CEO Matthias Regber. "The support can be an additional motivation for young people to enter the California Windsurf Cup. Messe Düsseldorf is clearly showing that it cares about young talent. We would like to sincerely thank boot Düsseldorf for this extraordinary commitment to the youth sector."
Petros Michelidakis, Director of boot Düsseldorf, emphasises the importance of the cashback campaign for young talents: "Participating in the California Windsurf Cup is the dream of many young windsurfers, but financial hurdles are often an obstacle. boot Düsseldorf wants to rejuvenate the regatta sport and actively support young people by taking over the entry fees. Every bit of help counts, especially when starting out."
The organisers point out that the budget is limited: "The allocation is based on the number of registrations received for the regattas. It is therefore advisable to register quickly as soon as registration is open in order to benefit from the funding."
