Young racers can prepare for the Youth & Junior Championships at a camp with Dennis Müller
Before the junior championships in Heiligenhafen, young riders can now prepare themselves ideally for the event. The GWA is offering a camp with Dennis Müller for both foil and fin.

From 29 August to 1 September, the GWA Youth & Junior Championship 2024, the first joint championship of several classes, will also take place in Heiligenhafen as part of the California Windsurf Cup.

The German Windsurfing Association (GWA) is organising the "GWA Young Guns Camp" together with Dennis Müller from 24 to 27 August as the perfect preparation for all young windsurfers. The GWA writes: "At this training camp, young windsurfers (up to Youth U21) will have the opportunity to improve their riding skills and ideally prepare for the championships directly on site. Above all, however, the kids should have fun windsurfing together with like-minded people."

The Young Guns Camp is aimed at windfoilers (regardless of whether they use Funboard, iQFOiL Youth&Junior or Techno Windfoil equipment) as well as kids travelling on the fin. Techno 293 kids in particular are also very welcome. If you want to take part in the camp, you should be able to stand safely on the board and be able to ride in the foot straps and with a harness; the camp is expressly not aimed at beginners.

Ideal conditions in Heiligenhafen

The aim of the Young Guns Camp is to improve individual riding skills, be it power jibes on the fin or flying jibes on the foil. The programme also includes equipment tuning, start training and practice races.

The area in Heiligenhafen is ideal for youth regattas and the GWA Young Guns Camp. Heiligenhafen has no shore break and no strong currents. The island of Fehmarn protects you from high waves from the open Baltic Sea in easterly winds. Despite this, there is very little cover on site, meaning that sailing is possible in practically all wind directions.

The actual GWA Young Guns Camp starts on Saturday morning. For those who arrive on Friday afternoon, there will be a small get-together in the evening. This will give everyone a chance to get to know each other and the programme for Saturday will be discussed.
