The Junior & Youth World Championship in iQFOiL runs until 31 July in Brest. Many German talents are taking part in the Junior World Championship in the Olympic class, coached by Dennis Müller and Diederik Bakker, among others.

More than 350 competitors are taking part in the Junior World Championships in Brest - in the area where Sebastian Kördel became world champion with the "big boys" in 2022. The junior foilers also want to get there at some point; they will be competing in the U17 and U19 classes until 31 July, once for the women and once for the men. There are also 13 young athletes from Germany:

U17 boys

  • Fritz Grünbaum
  • Gustav Grünbaum
  • Moritz Schleicher

U19 girls

  • Emma Schleicher
  • Eva-Lotte Grünbaum

U19 boys

  • Siddharta Hummler
  • Paul Regber
  • Nils Präger
  • Erik Wehkamp
  • Marius Müller
  • Eddie Burger
  • Max Winkler
  • Matti Winkler

Five of them are athletes from the Bavarian Sailing Association and will be coached by Dennis Müller and Diederik Bakker. "All the girls and boys are well prepared, most of them were here five days before the start to familiarise themselves with the area," writes Dennis. Commenting on the conditions for the contest, he says: "We are expecting light wind racing, hopefully with thermal support, but the current and the tidal difference of over four metres with wind shifts in the Bay of Brest will be challenging for the athletes. We expect exciting tactical changes of position, just as the training races have shown so far!"
