Marcilio Browne and Jane Seman secured victories in hard-fought finals at the Wave World Cup in Topocalma.

The Chile World Cup 2025 in Topocalma came to an end tonight with a dramatic final day after the majority of the main round had been completed the day before. Perfect waves, rattling offshore winds of over 30 knots and a top-class line-up made for exciting heats, in which world champion Marcilio Browne in the men's event and Jane Seman in the women's event came out on top in the end

In the men's final, Marcilio Browne proved his world-class credentials with a confident and precise performance in the perfect lefts of Topocalma, where the contest had been relocated due to the better conditions. With a heat score of 15.14, he beat Marc Paré (14.83) by a wafer-thin margin. Just 0.31 points apart - what an exciting final! "I'm so happy, it was an incredibly tough event with everyone at the highest level," said a delighted Browne after his victory. "I didn't have too many expectations, I just wanted to have fun. My material felt perfect. Winning here in Topocalma, my favourite spot in Chile, makes it extra special."

Marc Paré reported on the final: "I'm very happy with my waves, Braw got another very good one at the end. Maybe I should have waited outside. Everyone was very good, the conditions are just great! It was a great pleasure to surf Topocalma! It's a dream to ride a contest here and finish on the podium!" Third-placed Baptiste Cloarec (11.34) impressed with his aggressive rail riding and explosive manoeuvres. Camille Juban from Guadeloupe completed the podium in fourth place.

Jane Seman wins in "Aerial City", Alexia Kiefer in second place

In the women's event, Australia's Jane Seman stole the show with a fearless and spectacular performance. Her score of 11.36 was based on a never-ending series of aerials in the perfect waves of Topocalma. "It was simply Aerial City! I had so much fun and put all my eggs in one basket," said a jubilant Seman after her triumph. "Sometimes the timing wasn't perfect, but often it worked out!" Alexia Kiefer Quintana (10.96) came second, as she did last year, followed by world champion Sarah-Quita Offringa (10.87) and 20-year-old María Morales Navarro (7.43) from Spain. Kiefer and Navarro already had a heat from the Junior Girls in their bones, but the finals are still to come.

Kiefer reported after the final: "I was a bit sad after losing in the first round, but to come second here now feels super good. The conditions weren't exactly easy, but it was fun!" Sarah-Quita Offringa was not entirely satisfied with third place, but still had a lot of fun: "It was great to ride the final here in Topocalma! I was a bit nervous because I'd never been out at this spot before, but once I was on the water I quickly found my rhythm. Of course, third place is not what I had hoped for, but I'm very happy with my performance. It's great to have been part of such an exciting final, young against old!"
