Reading material for the festive season: Our archive contains numerous interviews with the big names in windsurfing. We've picked out a few of them for you!

Josh Angulo

Windsurfing child star in Hawaii, enfant terrible as a young professional, later two-time PWA wave world champion and board producer: Josh's life can justifiably be described as eventful. After his retirement from the professional circuit, it had become quiet around the scion of a legendary windsurfing family.

Josh Stone

At the turn of the millennium, hardly anyone celebrated the Hawaiian lifestyle and the casual life of a professional windsurfer as much as he did. He is the pioneer of modern freestyle, became world champion twice and was the favourite of the windsurfing groupies. Today he brokers real estate worth millions. surf author Dimitri Lehner looks back with Josh on wild times when his wife Amy saved him from the biggest follies.

Ernstfried Prade

Ernstfried Prade's entire life is actually made up of inventions; the 74-year-old holds almost 50 patents. Most of them are related to windsurfing and SUP. Everyone knows one of them, the m with the red dot, the Red Dot from Mistral. A designer's life in fast-forward. Prade is responsible for some legendary board designs and was a pioneer in windsurfing training. Even today, the Bavarian is still bursting with inventiveness.

Martin Brandner

For 28 years, Austrian Martin Brandner has dedicated himself to providing us with new, even better boards every year and pushing his professional team to peak performance. Now he enjoys life as a hobby surfer and family man and is working on how surf students can finally learn to jibe perfectly - even without a new board.

Brian Talma

Brian's life seems to consist of a single, never-ending laugh. If you're in a good headspace, the real world can't touch you. De Action Man has been an integral part of the windsurfing scene for over 40 years - but few people realise that his career began with a displacement board at the Olympics.

Michi Schweiger

Austrian Michi Schweiger is the grey eminence of the Naish brand and lives on Maui. We spoke to him about mermen, sharks, endless surfing, board design and monster waves.

Robby Naish and Björn Dunkerbeck

Windsurfing legends are not a dime a dozen. And there are none bigger than Robby Naish and Björn Dunkerbeck. Together they have won well over 100 World Cups. Icons that the media and the industry like to flaunt like fighting cocks. Both Dunkerbeck and Naish are still outstanding athletes today. Their rivalry on the water over a decade ago made them legends and fuelled the sport. They both possessed the same skills, but put them on show with contrasting styles.
