No official races on the water, but a big windsurfing party: Defi Wind was unlucky with the conditions this year, only two fun races could be organised.

Matteo Iachino won both heats in non-competitive conditions ahead of Pierre Mortefon and William Huppert. Marion Mortefon was the best lady, Lola Brotschi came second and Camille Moulin was third. According to the organisers, around a third of the 1,500 registered starters took part in the fun races.

The Defi Wind simply had bad luck with the conditions in 2024, with the Tramontana blowing over the beach of Gruissan in its usual strength until shortly before the start, making for exciting racing for the Defi Kite and Defi Wing. Benjamin May was on course for a podium finish in the wings for a long time, coming third in the end.

But even in calm conditions, the Defi Wind lived up to its legendary reputation: numerous brands showed off their new products and brought along plenty of stars such as Maciek Rutkowski, Matteo Iachino, Antoine Albeau and other big names. Balz Müller tricked on the foil, the Windsurfing Hall of Fame celebrates its new members and had invited many legends, and of course there was a party in the evening!
