Lina Erpenstein brings a wealth of talent to the water and is one of the world’s best female wave windsurfers, yet she still finds herself admiring the skills of other riders from time to time. In our series, she reveals the three qualities she’d love to borrow from them!

Lina, if you could steal three skills, things or qualities from other riders, what would they be?

If I could borrow determination from any rider, it would definitely be Lennart Neubauer. He manages to strike a brilliant balance between determination and relaxation, keeping things fun whilst still delivering his best performances in competition. I find that very impressive.

And your second steal?

If I could borrow someone’s style, it would probably be Julian Salmonn’s. Whether it’s his massive one-handed backloops in the jumps or his turns, he really stands out from the crowd for me. Being able to pull that off on the water must be incredible fun.

After Lennart Neubauer’s determination and Julian Salmonn’s style, you’ve still got one third steal left.

If I could borrow some coolness from anyone, it would probably be from Alexia Kiefer. Super relaxed and down-to-earth on the beach, fearless and stylish in the water. That’s quite a cool combination!

Lina, thank you for the interview!
