When Robby Naish comes, the crowds come too: During Naish's flying visit to Brouwersdam, the legend was constantly signing autographs, posing for selfies and making his fans happy.

Robby Naish's charisma remains unbroken, even after retiring from his company empire and beyond the age of 60. On his way back from a meeting at Naish's new parent company Kubus Sports in the Netherlands, the legend made a stopover at Brouwersdam, where fans were able to meet him at a meet & greet.

The announcement alone made a big splash, but on site on Saturday it was a real buzz: some Naish fans queued patiently for up to an hour and a half to get an autograph and a selfie with Robby. "He took a lot of time, some drove up to 450 km to meet him," reports Rick Jendrusch, who took over the centre from his parents in 2022. Many brought Naish boards, shirts and other memorabilia, on which Robby immortalised himself with his autograph.

The Brouwersdam with its large surf centre is one of the most popular spots in the Netherlands. In the upcoming surf issue 8/2025, you can read a big story about how Uwe Jendrusch turned a small surf school into a large water sports centre! And from 10 to 12 October, the big Dam-X-Festival will be back with clinics, races and testing opportunities!
