Storm, drama, heroes: The Sylt World Cup can do it all and is more multifaceted than almost any other event on the PWA Tour. We show you the highlights of the last few years!

The biggest event in the PWA calendar is about to start! To get in the mood for Citroën Windsurf World Cup Sylt 2024, we look back on some outstanding moments. From breathtaking natural spectacles to spectacular action and goosebump moments, it's all here!

The list of Sylt moments could be continued almost endlessly: Björn Dunkerbeck's farewell to the PWA tour, Ralf Bachschuster's victory off List in 1992, the first races on the foil, dramas in the Shorebreak, endless parties in the tent...

Klaas Voget explained what makes Sylt so legendary in an impressive video ahead of the 2018 event:

This year, the World Cup Sylt officially starts on 26 September and runs until 5 October. In addition to the waveriders, the foil slalom riders and freestylers will also be competing.

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
