What a ride! A massive aerial, three clean turns and a stylish kick-out... Paul van Bellen captures it head-on with his drone. Amazing. Here At the end of the video, van Bellen captures the ride once more, so that even those who surf in a right-hand wind can get their full dose of inspiration.

Spectacular jumps, challenging conditions and a huge crowd. Indoor windsurfing delivered unique action and impressive displays. The tight space, gusty winds and the short run-up to the ramp made every jump a real challenge. Riders such as Ricardo Campello showed off their full range of skills and created unforgettable moments in front of thousands of spectators. A format that we’d love to see return.
In a series of vlogs, drone pilot Paul van Bellen A behind-the-scenes look at Fiji. How do the pros live on the island? What’s inside their board bags? And how much work goes into setting up the livestream from that remote reef? You’ll find out all this in his entertaining Video series (Fiji Surf Pro #1 to #8) on YouTube.

The windsurfers are eagerly awaiting a fast-paced race as part of the Pepsi Wind Tour. However, some of them seem to be in a bit too much of a hurry at the start.

Was there something in the water? Or was the water too shallow at that spot? Funnily enough, the two foil surfers both fell at exactly the same spot, for no apparent reason.
We all know this, of course, but it can’t be said often enough – and perhaps this video from Starboard will spark an interest in one or two newcomers. “The fascination of windsurfing comes in many forms. It’s not just about the highest jumps, the fastest runs or nailing the latest trick. It’s about the feeling of being on the water, chasing the wind, pushing your limits and sharing unforgettable moments with friends. From speed runs and freestyle tricks to crashes, wipeouts and those perfect sessions where everything clicks and every moment takes you further,” they say. There’s really nothing more to add to that!
Yellow, compact, featuring very trendy graphics and, of course, the legendary dragon: the F2 Wave was a real eye-catcher in the nineties (and, for some members of the surf editorial team, one of the most beautiful boards of all time). Freestyler George Grisley, a year younger than the F2, got hold of one and put the board through three challenges: surfing faster than 30 knots, a front loop and – as a tribute to Josh Stone – the Spock. Even though Stone’s signature board was actually the F2 Air, it’s a very entertaining video!

63-year-old Robby Naish isn’t letting up – and in his latest clip, he’s tearing through some solid Ho’okipa waves in his usual style: ““Although I’ve mainly been wing foiling recently because the windsurfing conditions haven’t exactly been great, I felt really strong and wasn’t as rusty as I’d expected. I’m absolutely thrilled,” writes Naish under his video.
The catchy track “Ride Like A Pirate” by Windman1111, which plays beneath the video, also seems to be tailor-made for Naish and Maui. Have a look.
“I’ve got the best job at Defi Wind!” says UK freestyler George Grisley. He was in charge of the official social media channels during the mega race and takes us behind the scenes in this video. The best bit: the start! Racing past 1,400 windsurfers at full throttle on the start boat – that’s a unique perspective. “But the best part is when the boat turns at the end and you see the whole field all at once!” says George. It’s well worth it!

It’s summer in Switzerland too, and Balz Müller has grabbed his bike trailer, loaded it up for a foil session and set off for the lake. Turquoise water, a gentle breeze and some magical foil manoeuvres – what more could you want!
After a tough winter (which they spent entirely surfing), the “Kooks on the Water” are enjoying the summery temperatures on the North Sea. A glass of mud, tight turns and the best flat-water action. A clip that’ll have you itching for the next session.

Paul van Bellen and Jaeger Stone are an absolute dream team. With Paul operating the drone and Jaeger out on the water, spectacular footage is guaranteed. Paul has just released another new reel featuring the best scenes – superbly edited, with slow-motion and real-time action perfectly combined and accompanied by the right music. More of the same, please!

You certainly can’t accuse John Skye, a former World Cup pro now working for Patrik Windsurfing, of being timid. Most wave surfers would surely have backed down in the face of this fierce wave crest, but John Skye saw it through. Unfortunately, courage isn’t always rewarded, as this wall of water off Fuerteventura dealt plenty of blows. First John kissed the sail, then he took a lift a few metres down: “I had a bit of a swim,” John writes on his Instagram channel.
British freestyler George Grisley is known for his highly professional approach to training. He takes us along for the ride during a practice heat in Vasiliki. An eight-minute heat, with the three best moves on each side counting. His goal: to score over 30 points. He even has the heat judged remotely by an official PWA judge. An exciting concept. Will he make it?

A 360 into a burner, a Spock into a cutback? Takuma Sugi was particularly at ease in the waves at Ho’okipa after the competition in Maui. It’s great fun to watch. You can find his full Maui video HERE.

This clip featuring the newly crowned Aloha Classic winner Bernd Roediger is a real treat. It showcases some hardcore Hookipa action from Roediger, Antoine Martin and Morgan Noireaux. At the end, however, Roediger shows off his freestyle skills once again, launching into an air jibe on the wave face and sliding down the wave for several seconds with his fin leading the way. His creativity and board control are simply ‘next level’ here.

“Work in progress,” writes Philip Köster alongside a new clip on Instagram featuring some very stylish double loops. As we all know, he’s a master of those, so what is he working on now? The somewhat unusual helmet has sparked speculation as to whether Köster might be fine-tuning the triple loop? “The helmet can only mean one thing,” comments PWA racer Blanca Alabau, for example, whilst another user writes hopefully, “This is going to be the year of the triple!” We can’t wait to find out!
Last week, another low-pressure system swept in from the west across the Canary Islands. Balz Müller, who is currently staying on Lanzarote, didn’t unpack his wave gear like most others, but instead took to the waves at Famara with his freestyler. The result was some top-notch freestyle wave action – captured by drone. Enjoy!
In his new video, Nick Spangenberg talks about his trip to the World Cup in Maui. “I mainly came here to windsurf; that’s what the island is famous for. But this video isn’t just about that. It’s about everything that goes with it. Exploring the island, driving along the coast, discovering places you wouldn’t expect, and simply taking in just how surreal this island actually is. I realised very quickly that Maui is much more than just a windsurfing destination!”

Simply having fun on the water, regardless of conditions or disciplinary labels – that’s Balz Müller’s motto. After a session on the Windsurfer LT Balz strapped the Retro rig onto his Foilstyler board. Classic freestyle with Duck Jibes and 360s, but you can even do a shaka with the ‘bag’ that’s only loosely laced!

Endless wind over the long Easter weekend – depending on the spot, sometimes even a bit too much of a good thing. The spots around Cold Hawaii were ‘treated’ to gusts of over 60 knots on Easter Sunday. As one of the few, Patrik team rider Fabian Grundmann ventured out onto the water in Hanstholm – the only picture released so far speaks volumes. We’re looking forward to more pictures from the day!

One day, multiple disciplines – that’s now the norm for Balz Müller. His bike trailer is always packed full of various bits of kit whenever the Swiss Waterman heads down the road to his home spot on Lake Biel. Most of the time, double rotations with a sail and a wing are the order of the day. In his latest clip, he’s put together a few shots with different setups one after the other, so you can see a direct comparison.

It’s not just in Niendorf, where a beached humpback whale has been causing a stir recently, but in San Francisco too that you can spot these giant creatures. Windsurfer Eric Kramers posted this clip on Instagram, which is currently the talk of the town: Eric is riding his foil through the bay when suddenly the back of a whale appears in front of him. After the inevitable crash, the whale dives away quickly, leaving Eric to briefly get his bearings. “I’d already slowed down a lot because I’d spotted a few whales in the area, but on my final run it suddenly appeared right in front of me. Luckily, we’re both fine,” he wrote about the unusual encounter. “Be careful and respect the wild animals!”
Adam Warchol, Alessio Stillrich, Leon Jamaer – the new wave recruits at Patrik read like a ‘Who’s Who’ of some of the greatest talents and most stylish riders of recent years. The new team manager, John Skye, has put together a top-class squad, which met for the first time last week in the Canary Islands, just in time for the Big Day. “Everyone actually wanted to come anyway, so we ended up meeting on the beach,” says Leon Jamaer, the latest addition to the team. Big wave specialist Adam Warchol and Pozo local Alessio Stillrich had already joined Patrik beforehand. And the four couldn’t have had a better start: a powerful Atlantic low-pressure system called Therese pushed a massive swell towards the Canary Islands. Combined with a steady south-westerly wind, this resulted in a four-day swell run with exceptional conditions; many riders had dropped everything to be there for this swell. The Patrik video gives an impression of the extraordinary conditions – and ends with a cracking crash part! Well worth a watch!

“What was it actually like in the nineties?” is the latest Instagram trend; lots of people are posting photos of themselves from that decade. Even the PWA couldn’t resist joining in and has put together a few brilliant snippets: From wave action to indoor spectacles, from no-nose boards to nose-hits in the “debrief” with fists, from freestyle on the water to the style masters on land. The clip is actually far too short!

Freestyler Pawel Szulc is pulling off a “proper” slalom on Fuerteventura – not a downwind course with long legs, but a relaxed weave around the obstacles, just like in a downhill race. The freestyle gear provides the necessary manoeuvrability, whilst the obstacles are flagpoles in the Sotavento lagoon. Looks like fun – perhaps an option for the next Slalom X-World Cup?
The Wave World Cup in Margaret River may have been a while ago, but the WWT regularly treats us to videos of the individual heats – complete with scoring and commentary! The conditions are fantastic, the footage is absolutely worth watching, and the standard is impressive! In the men’s final, local Jaeger Stone came out on top ahead of Simon Thule, Julian Salmonn and Jake Ghiretti; here you can enjoy the heat in full again – and take some comfort in the fact that, at least up north, there’s no wind at the moment. You can find more heats on the WWT’s YouTube channel!
More than a year has passed since Storm Darragh raged across the North Atlantic. At the time, Thomas Traversa set off from Austria to catch some exceptional conditions in Brittany. He has now released a video featuring spectacular drone footage that offers a glimpse of the nature of the spots and the raw power of nature. By the way: we’ve put together the best images from those extraordinary days in this gallery for you: Thomas Traversa on a big wave mission in Brittany
Balz Müller is back in front of the camera! This time he’s surfing a bise on Lake Neuchâtel in Switzerland. Of course, there are bound to be a few nasty falls. The only question that remains is who froze more on this freezing cold day – Balz or his cameraman “Wöufli”?

“I told him not to let go of his back hand. Instead, he just lets go of everything,” commented Maciek Rutkowski on his compatriot Adam Kelar’s spectacular crash. The young racer – ranked 3rd in the PWA U17 standings on the foil and 4th on the fin in 2025 – lost contact with the gaff as soon as he took off, causing his rig to rotate solely due to the loop. At around the apex, the board then decided “Not with me!” and broke free from the rig. At least Adam didn’t have to swim far, as the board landed right next to him – luckily, the Pole was wearing a helmet!

Even after retiring from the World Cup, Klaas Voget hasn’t lost his touch: he’s posted some brilliant clips and photos from a trip to Chile with friends. The group were clearly lucky with the conditions; the waves certainly look massive and well over mast-high. And the photos make you want to pay a visit to those spots yourself...

Robby Naish has shared this clip featuring drone footage from his recent wave and flat-water sessions off Maui. The FPV drone was piloted by Patrick Lombardi, who has previously caused a stir with breathtaking clips of windsurfing, wingfoiling and other sports. “In the past, footage like this would have cost thousands of dollars for helicopters and the like,” says Robby.
Sebastian Steudtner, the big-wave surfer from Nuremberg, was recently a guest on *Aktuelles Sportstudio*. In this fascinating feature, he talks about unofficial world records, the struggle for recognition and how Hawaiian legends once insulted him by calling him “Hitler’s stepson who can’t paddle”. “For every good move you see, there are loads of close calls that don’t quite work out… Most of the time they still feel great, but it definitely hurts when you watch them back on video!” writes Moritz Mauch about this crash clip. Plenty of white water, plenty of veeeery close moves – and the comforting realisation that even a rider as stylish as Moritz doesn’t get everything right first time!
Windsurfing meets skateboarding! Lennart Neubauer has already proven his ability to handle obstacles and ramps back in In 2021, when he set up a windsurf park on Naxos together with his sponsor Red Bull and became a “ramp master”. Now, whilst training in South Africa, he’s using the sandy beach as a ledge for grinding: “I had no idea my board could do that,” says the freestyle world champion. The landing on the first attempt looks nasty...

This speed spot on Lake Grewelingen in the Netherlands looks absolutely stunning. A long stone embankment blocks the waves, allowing for long speed runs on the leeward side of the embankment. Nils Bach captured it all on drone.
A brilliant action clip featuring Takuma Sugi in Western Australia. Towards the end of the video, the Japanese rider – who also competes in the Freestyle World Cup, amongst other events – gets creative and rides a mast-high wave with ease in switch stance.

Not much action, but still very entertaining: Balz Müller checked out the preparations for the iQFOiL Games on Lanzarote, where the first heats are set to start today. The Swiss freestyler – equipped with a microphone attached to a beer bottle – met Johan Søe, coach Sebastian Kornum, Emi Galindo, Gonzalo Costa Hoevel and a few other iQFOiLers, among others. His dream: Super Cross on the foil!
British freestyler George Grisley is exploring secluded spots around Phan Rang in Vietnam with his friends. Just like in our Regional guide (filmed in 2017), the moped with a board rack still seems to be the number one mode of transport in the area – and the spots still look just as quiet. And the freestylers are having a blast! Former European champion Davy Scheffers, who regularly heads to Vietnam in winter to train, is also there and pulls off a few impressive moves for the camera.
A real gem: the animated series “Wave Conquerors” is top-notch windsurfing comedy packed with brilliant details. In episode 6, even Ben Proffitt and Paul van Bellen a guest appearance; both have also lent their voices to the comic versions. Lakes and ponds have frozen over in many parts of Germany, and all over the place people are digging out their ice surfboards – some of them homemade – and heading out onto the ice.
