Lennart Neubauer combines a Spock with three Culos in a shallow water lagoon in Brazil.
In doing so, he pushes the boundaries of what is possible in freestyle. The triple culo alone is a distant goal for many cracks - Lennart adds a smooth spock on top. The speed and technique he has to use to lose as little speed as possible is phenomenal.

Polakov with wind from the left in Ho'okipa and Co. - About Time" (Port Tack Edition)

Polakow with wind from the left in Ho'okipa and Co. Paul van Bellen makes this dream of many European windsurfers come true in a mirrored version of "About Time". If you're a North Sea surfer who mainly surfs with wind from the left, for example, this "Port Tack Edition" should put you in the mindset of the radical turns and jumps from the legendary film. Have fun with it.

Everything has been said about Philip Köster's wave skills. But when it comes to freestyle, Köster is often underestimated. It is sometimes said that he can do more moves in this discipline than he knows their names. Philip often incorporates freestyle moves into his wave rides. This is also the case this time, with a backside air into Spock right at the beginning of the video - something you've never seen before.

Lennart at the limit - radical move combinations from Jericoacoara

Freestyle world champion Lennart Neubauer is currently training in Jeri and pushing his move combinations such as double shakas to the limit. The radical freestyle conditions in Brazil offer unlimited possibilities and the 21-year-old seems to be in top form. We can't wait to see more action from Jeri.

Seven sports in one day - Kai Lenny takes it to the extreme in Jaws

"The first surfers to utilise the full potential of the wave at Jaws were windsurfers," says Waterman Kai Lenny in his new video, in which he practices seven different water sports in one day at Jaws. But the fact that his roots and the roots of Jaws lie in windsurfing doesn't stop him from dropping into the massive waves with six other watersports equipment that day.

Balz Müller wonders how many backloops he can jump in a row with the foil.
He currently manages just under two, which is crazy enough. But the Swiss rider wants more: "As soon as I've managed three, nine will also work, and I'm pretty sure that I'll then have the necessary momentum to do an infinite number of loops."
Sounds plausible? Nothing is impossible for "Radiculo".

How to turn a windsurfing board into a surfer

Geert Groenewegen started building his own surfboards to pass the time during the coronavirus pandemic. This became a passion, Geert builds anything that resembles a surfboard in his small garden in Noordwijk and creates great YouTube videos! He recently started a project to convert an old windsurfing board into a wave rider - after all, the foam core is big enough. In the video, he shows why it didn't work out with a Mistral Flow, what challenges the old Klepper posed and how he turned it into a fish!

A no-handed flaka in switch stance by Leon Struppeck from Kiel. The winner of the last German Freestyle Battle on Fehmarn wonders whether this might be the first on camera. He had never seen a flaka like this before. Many freestylers express their enthusiasm in the comments. However, Andy Bubble Chambers writes that he landed this move back in 2004, but doesn't have it on video. Anyway - a beautiful and technically highly demanding move!

Waveriding in super slow motion

You can count the droplets from the spray one by one - these images in super slow motion are so razor-sharp and precise. It's been a while since the IWT contest in Margaret River, but now Reflex Films has ennobled the event once again with a great edit. Images from the land camera and spectacular drone footage of Paul van Bellen combined with riders such as Jaeger Stone, Julian Salmonn and Philip Köster!

Regardless of whether you want to win a slalom race or want to understand it better as a spectator, or simply want to beat your friends at the home spot - Nico Prien provides valuable insights and tips in his latest video. In just under 20 minutes, the four chapters cover the start, overtaking manoeuvres on the straight or in the jibe, the right line, reading swells and jumping over the obstacle.

Antoine Martin is currently travelling to La Reunion, where there are some of the most amazing wave spots in the world. Anyone who, like Antoine, sets off for an aerial in Etang Salé should know what they're doing, because the spot doesn't forgive mistakes. A botched landing here is tantamount to going ashore over a razor-sharp reef peppered with sea urchins. But we also take our hats off to the water photographer, because a full wash is no walk in the park here, even without surf equipment. La Reunion is also considered to be extremely "sharky".

The Dutchman Ingmar Daldorf starts far to windward and just manages to squeeze between the boat and Nico Prien on the start line, but then makes contact with Prien at the wrong moment and flies over the front of the boat. Yentel Caers hits the ground running in the warm-up for the Fuerteventura World Cup one crazy combination after the other: Kabikuchi into Culo, Airfunnel into no handed Burner... Lennart Neubauer knows what he is doing. Nevertheless, it would be perfectly understandable if the filmer saw his previous life flash before his inner eye in this scene. At the FPT event on Paros, Lennart put a move so close to the lens that you think you can see the fibre structure of his board. The soundtrack in this short clip by Antoine Martin is fittingly the theme song of the series "Curb your Enthusiasm". Antoine obviously didn't manage to do that, he went all out in one of his first pozo sessions and jumped an impressive stalled forward... unfortunately with a suboptimal landing that his board didn't survive. "What you shouldn't do after two and a half months off", Antoine wrote, and later commented: "You'd need a coach and a full-time repairman!"

Old against new - "Windsurfing Top Gear" with Dudu Levi

How does a board from 2007 fare against a modern board? Freestyler Dudu Levi tried it out and got himself an old Mistral Joker, his dream board at the time and "state of the art". Even a direct comparison with his Future Fly Tamado reveals the differences: the old Joker is longer, has a much thinner tail and the mast track is further forward. "It was the beginning of really good freestyle boards back then," recalls Dudu. Then he takes to the water with both boards - he reveals the results in the video!

Surf editor Julian Wiemar also compared different generations of boards last year: Board development: old-timers, young-timers and current freestyle boards compared

World champion Lennart Neubauer loves to get his freestyle equipment out in Pozo too.
You can usually see fat "wave-like" jumps against the waves and double moves such as 2x Culo or 2x Burner on the inside, for which he skilfully uses the momentum of the incoming wave. In the comments, people ask when there will finally be another freestyle contest in Pozo. Neubauer says: "That's a very good question!"

Antoine Martin in Chile

Photographer Jens Hogenkamp often travels with the pros to the best spots in the world. He was also at the World Cup in Chile, where he focussed his camera on Antoine Martin. The Frenchman, who has just joined Goya and Quatro, carves up the waves of Matanzas in his own very special style. Thomas Traversa on Maui - "Moving on"

A few months after his first vlog from Maui, Thomas Traversa follows up! He has called his second "Kind of a Vlog" "Moving On", and this is also the consistent theme in his film: What's next? "I realised that my time at contests might be over because the results just weren't there in recent years," says Thomas thoughtfully at the end. "So the question is: What do I like most about windsurfing? And the answer is very clear: going in search of waves, in unspoilt places, and going out on the water alone or just with a few friends!" But before that, there's some great Maui footage to watch, with unusual but very catchy music!

Diony Guadagnino from El Yaque compares the spinloop and wymaroo. While the spinloop has established itself as one of the most important jumping manoeuvres in windsurfing, the unusual rotation of the wymaroo, which Gorge local Chris Wyman made famous in the early days of the freestyle discipline, has been increasingly forgotten. It's nice to see that Diony still celebrates the flat water guscrew.

This is what it feels like to surf in Hookipa

Everyone, but really every windsurfer knows Hookipa, and most of us have looked at the spot in detail on Google Maps many times. However, the number of people who have already been on the water there is much smaller. Robby Naish has made a POV clip for all of us who can only dream of a Hookipa session, in which he takes us out on the water with him. What is the angle of view, what do the waves look like - you can at least get a much better idea of all this in this video than in most other images. "The wide-angle lens makes the surf much smaller than it actually was, but you get the idea... with some good moves and a few wipeouts at the very end!" writes Robby about his clip

That was the Defi Wind 2025

Ben Proffitt takes us to the Defi in this video - as we all know, there was no wind for official racing again this year, but the legendary Gruissan regatta was a spectacle as always! From the Practise Race to the Windsurf Village, Ben shows you everything you should have experienced!

The history of the windsurf tridem

We've already shown you the legendary windsurf tridem from France several times, and now the team has produced a great video about the genesis of one of the craziest projects of recent years. How did the idea come about, how were the different versions - with fin and foil - developed, what obstacles were there? Absolutely worth seeing! The video is in French, but you can have automatic subtitles created on YouTube so that you can at least understand the most important information (characters for subtitles, adjust the language via the settings cogwheel if necessary).

Nine-time freestyle world champion Gollito Estredo has shifted the focus of his career towards wingfoiling in recent years and put his windsurfing equipment to one side for a while.
So it's all the better to see the 36-year-old suddenly back in freestyle mode. In his latest clips, he jumps the latest power moves as if he had never been away - as radical and light-footed as ever. According to rumours, he also wants to compete in the World Cup again this year on Tabou/GA equipment.

Full rupture in Cabezo

"I can hardly watch this", says presenter Ben Proffitt in his latest episode of "Send it Sunday". During a wave ride (minute 3:00 in the video), a surfer loses his equipment at high tide at the Cabezo spot on Tenerife. As a windsurfer, it's really hard to watch what the floods in front of the rocks at the entrance do to it afterwards.

Who will be first to the neck buoy? In a close battle between team rider Taty Frans and his boss Andrea Cucchi (Point-7), we are right up close. With a boat and cameraman, the riders are followed at full speed right up to the first gybe. Footage like this beautifully illustrates how rough and fast it is out there in the Slalom World Cup. This year's Cup will take place in Sotavento from 18 - 27 July.

The ultimate windsurfing van

In his detailed clip, British freestyler George Grisley shows us his new van, which he designed precisely to meet his needs as a travelling windsurfer (with the help of his father). The equipment is stowed in a carrier made of aluminium elements, which can be individually adapted depending on what and how much equipment is on board. The living space is also perfectly utilised and designed with great attention to detail, from the drawers and the hidden box for the Starlink router to the retractable table and the flaps that only open under pressure without handles. George's favourite feature is the Airfryer, which for him is the "game changer" when it comes to cooking and, like almost everything on board, is powered by solar energy. A great windsurfing van with lots of well thought-out features!

Marc Paré - From Hawaii to Cold Hawaii

Freestyle action from New Caledonia by Antoine Albert

Is Leander Halm showing us a new freestyle move here? During a grubby, the young German trickster lets go of the sail at the right moment so that it shifts very elegantly freehand and then lands perfectly in his hands again. The exit on the other side of the sail then looks more like a Spock or Chachoo than the grubby he initiated at the beginning. Pros such as Thomas Traversa, Balz Müller and Marcilio Browne express their enthusiasm in the comments column. However, they are not quite sure whether it is a fully-fledged new move that Leander should give its own name. Old master Yarden Meir writes that he is sure he saw this move from Bonaire Local Caesar Finies back in 2011, but then never again. "Definitely a crazy move," adds Yarden.

Back on the freestyle board for the first time in two months and Takuma Sugi goes crazy straight away - completely relaxed, he puts a flaka on the top of the wave and then doesn't stop spinning at all. With the right momentum, he manages to slide down the wave with four more 360-degree turns, plus the flaka he jumped - 5x360 = 1800 degrees. You don't see that every day.

Liam Dunkerbeck and Victor Fernandez on the Cape Verde Islands

Liam Dunkerbeck's first business trip as a Duotone newcomer took him to Cape Verde in January, where one of the best swells in recent years attracted the best windsurfers in the world. Together with his new team-mate Victor Fernandez, Liam ripped the waves of Punta Preta, the pictures of his "breaking in" on the new material went around the world. Now Duotone has added a very nice clip in which Victor and Liam can be seen together - and who knows, maybe one day E-42 and E-11 will be on the podium together, just like Liam dreams of?

Nice clip from the Dutch shop Telstar: This is how classic freestyle works on a longboard like the Windsurfer LT! The way the bearded old school freestyler squeezes himself first onto the rail and then backwards into the boom looks quite challenging - but perfect and in perfect form! And then he greets the spectators with a tipped hat - that's got style!

The moment that changed wave riding forever - Cape Verde 2007

Anyone who has been interested in windsurfing over the last 20 years will immediately light up at the mention of "Cape Verde 2007". At the World Cup on Sal, Kauli Seadi turned up with two fins on his board - and after decades of single fins reigning supreme, the new era of multifin boards dawned at that very moment. Quatro shaper Keith Teboul tells the story behind this milestone in a great video. The footage of Kauli in the waves of Ponta Preta is still spectacular, especially when you realise from today's perspective what a key moment it was. Only the judges weren't ready for so much style back then: they crowned old master Josh Angulo the winner in the final - not undeserved, but not very visionary.
