Lennart Neubauer, 2024 Freestyle World Champion, has cracked a new big move - the Shifty into Forward: "There has never been a trick that has occupied me as much as the Shifty Forward. More difficult than the move itself is finding the right conditions to try it in the first place"Lennart describes the learning process. On a windy day in Cape Town, the time had finally come: a jump like a shaka, then the terrifying pushloop rotation backwards, stopping the rotation and then adding a forward - Lennart raised the bar considerably.

Brazil's north coast is currently the centre of the freestyle world, and world champion Yentel Caers is also putting the finishing touches to his next title defence in the dream conditions. He has just posted this clip in which one mega move follows the next. The competition has commented on the clip in amazement, and FPT organiser Adam Sims already fears that the current rating scale is no longer sufficient for Yentel's level: "Looks like we'll have to add a few numbers to the score sheets in 2026...", he commented!

British wave surfer Phil Horrocks had certainly imagined this jump run a little differently! Whether it was the strong offshore wind or Phil simply caught a gust in the air is not known. Jaws got its first really big swell of the winter yesterday, and of course there were plenty of big names out there: alongside Kai Lenny - who was testing a new foil - there was Marcilio Browne, who posted this short clip. When Balz Müller is at his adventure playground in Jericoacoara, there should actually be a live stream. Even before his Switch Stance Pushloop Balz tried his hand at a double air Kono - a feat he also had to overcome: "The jump and the decision to do this move are scary," writes Balz. When Balz Müller is out and about on the windsurfing playground in Jericoacoara, it's usually hard to keep up with all the action. It's not for nothing that the "Swiss Waterman" makes a to-jump list every year with all the moves he wants to try out - often including completely new creations. Balz has just pulled off a pushloop in the switch stance - apparently the first of its kind. The scene is enthusiastic, with everyone from Marcilio Browne to Thomas Traversa celebrating the move. A name has already been suggested: Sascha Lange suggests "Swushloop" - or simply "Swissroll", as Balz thinks.

Parawing and SUP in Hookipa - Kai Lenny pushes the boundaries once again
The foilers were the ones who invented the parawing - or low kite, or pocket wing, or whatever you want to call it. However, uber-talent Kai-Lenny takes the trend to a new level once again: he goes out in Hookipa with a SUP and parawing in impressive waves - and impresses the entire line-up. "Maybe not wave riding, but a ten out of ten as a handstand," comments PWA judge Emilio Galindo on his clip. In a pithy shorebreak, the Spaniard goes for a final turn - and loses. "The shorebreak took no prisoners today," says Emi after the full wash including a handstand. But it's not so bad, the material has survived the spin cycle unscathed, the sand has been shaken out of his ears and he can carry on!

The 2014 wave world champion can read wind and swell forecasts like no other and always sets off when it promises to be epic somewhere. Traversa has just released a new video from Fuerteventura - a few older shots from a 2023 swell combined with fresh images! Great drone images and water shots, combined with unusual but atmospheric music! And in between there's an excursion into the forgotten corners of board development!

Even at a dream destination like Maui, there are places you definitely don't want to be. The rocks to leeward of Hookipa are one of them, and the best of the best have washed up here - often with major losses of equipment. Italian Pasquale Bisogni was also threatened with this fate a few days ago: he bobbed in front of the rocks with almost no pressure in the sail, the next wave always breathing down his neck. But with a series of elegant tacking manoeuvres - and a bit of luck - he got off lightly. His successful escape is being duly celebrated in the comments on Facebook!
