Lennart Neubauer, 2024 Freestyle World Champion, has cracked a new big move - the Shifty into Forward: "There has never been a trick that has occupied me as much as the Shifty Forward. More difficult than the move itself is finding the right conditions to try it in the first place"Lennart describes the learning process. On a windy day in Cape Town, the time had finally come: a jump like a shaka, then the terrifying pushloop rotation backwards, stopping the rotation and then adding a forward - Lennart raised the bar considerably.

Lisa Kloster writes "Full power crashes" about this clip by Balz Müller, "brain off and full throttle", comments Yentel Caers. Of course, even an uber-talent like Balz Müller doesn't succeed at everything straight away, and after his training trip to Brazil he has edited together his most violent crashes here. Very entertaining, sometimes painful to watch and always terrific - Balz in top form!

Brazil's north coast is currently the centre of the freestyle world, and world champion Yentel Caers is also putting the finishing touches to his next title defence in the dream conditions. He has just posted this clip in which one mega move follows the next. The competition has commented on the clip in amazement, and FPT organiser Adam Sims already fears that the current rating scale is no longer sufficient for Yentel's level: "Looks like we'll have to add a few numbers to the score sheets in 2026...", he commented!

British wave surfer Phil Horrocks had certainly imagined this jump run a little differently! Whether it was the strong offshore wind or Phil simply caught a gust in the air is not known. In any case, Phil activated the emergency exit after jumping off and must have crawled for a while after landing until he was reunited with his equipment.

Jaws got its first really big swell of the winter yesterday, and of course there were plenty of big names out there: alongside Kai Lenny - who was testing a new foil - there was Marcilio Browne, who posted this short clip. A massive wall of water that extends beyond the video clip and then an incredible bottom turn in the style of a race jibe! We can't wait to see more pictures from Peahi!

When Balz Müller is at his adventure playground in Jericoacoara, there should actually be a live stream. Even before his Switch Stance Pushloop Balz tried his hand at a double air Kono - a feat he also had to overcome: "The jump and the decision to do this move are scary," writes Balz. "It requires a healthy dose of respect, but not too much fear - otherwise you won't make any progress."

It takes a while, but it's worth the wait: Dan Kealy is mercilessly eaten by an Irish set. Only when he is on the wave do you realise that the set is considerably more than mast-high. "He survived unharmed, apart from a destroyed sail," write the colleagues from the English windsurfing mag reassuringly.
Mike Friedl takes us on his very first session in Jaws: from the start in the harbour and the tour to the break, from rigging in the water to the first waves at the legendary spot. Even though he calls it a "small day", at the end it becomes clear how big the waves were, even if you don't realise it from the POV perspective. Exciting video with a new perspective on Peahi!

When Balz Müller is out and about on the windsurfing playground in Jericoacoara, it's usually hard to keep up with all the action. It's not for nothing that the "Swiss Waterman" makes a to-jump list every year with all the moves he wants to try out - often including completely new creations. Balz has just pulled off a pushloop in the switch stance - apparently the first of its kind. The scene is enthusiastic, with everyone from Marcilio Browne to Thomas Traversa celebrating the move. A name has already been suggested: Sascha Lange suggests "Swushloop" - or simply "Swissroll", as Balz thinks.
Paul van Bellen was at it again! Fat jumps in slow motion from Jaeger Stone from a drone perspective: "I was filming with Jaeger Stone in 35 knots of wind the other day. There were a few problems filming as the wind was very strong and gusty. The sun was directly in my eyes, but I still managed to get some good shots," says van Bellen.

What an exit! A minimal stall throws the foiler Mistral Matulja leaves the track, touches down with its nose and catapults over the front at full speed - now a classic when foiling. Fortunately, everything went well.

Beautiful Wave rides and fat wipeouts, captured from a drone perspective and accompanied by classical music. "One Eye is not just a wave, it's a very special place for me," writes pilot Kirill Umrikhin about the spot in Mauritius, where he has already experienced many beautiful, but also scary moments.
Keith Teboul and his team talk about what drives them. What inspires the shapes, what keeps progress alive and why a magical board can change everything for a rider: "When a board works perfectly, many doors open. Confidence. Flow. Timing. This feeling stays with you long after the session."

Even with Philip Köster, things can go wrong: Köster recently posted this short clip of a rough exit. The tricky thing about it: the front foot gets stuck in the loop for a relatively long time, and both man and material then go into the white-water washing machine. But in view of the succinct text - "When things go wrong" - we can breathe a sigh of relief and assume that nothing has happened.
This week, the Lenny brothers caught up with Ricardo Campello. We find out more about his fearless attitude, the craziest moments of his career and what still drives him to progress after all these years. After four runner-up titles, Ricardo's big goal is and remains to become Wave World Champion. That is why he is still looking for sponsors. Campello fans, click in!
A new video from the congenial collaboration between Jaeger Stone and Paul van Bellen. Jaeger on the boom with great action at a lonely spot in Western Australia, Paul on the drone with a perfect view for the best angle and the great atmosphere. Whether super slow-motion close-up, backlighting at sunset or simply the atmosphere at this great spot - Paul van Bellen always knows how to make his shots stand out from all other drone filmmakers.
The foilers were the ones who invented the parawing - or low kite, or pocket wing, or whatever you want to call it. However, uber-talent Kai-Lenny takes the trend to a new level once again: he goes out in Hookipa with a SUP and parawing in impressive waves - and impresses the entire line-up. Let the wing pull you out, then pack up and ride the waves in mega style - classic longboard moves such as hang ten, noseride, switch stance and fins ahead included. Even photography legend Erik Aeder can only marvel at this on the beach, and Kai has to show off his parawing in the car park!

"Maybe not wave riding, but a ten out of ten as a handstand," comments PWA judge Emilio Galindo on his clip. In a pithy shorebreak, the Spaniard goes for a final turn - and loses. "The shorebreak took no prisoners today," says Emi after the full wash including a handstand. But it's not so bad, the material has survived the spin cycle unscathed, the sand has been shaken out of his ears and he can carry on!
Wherever Thomas Traversa is, there are usually good conditions and exceptional waves. The 2014 wave world champion can read wind and swell forecasts like no other and always sets off when it promises to be epic somewhere. Traversa has just released a new video from Fuerteventura - a few older shots from a 2023 swell combined with fresh images! Great drone images and water shots, combined with unusual but atmospheric music! And in between there's an excursion into the forgotten corners of board development!

Even at a dream destination like Maui, there are places you definitely don't want to be. The rocks to leeward of Hookipa are one of them, and the best of the best have washed up here - often with major losses of equipment. Italian Pasquale Bisogni was also threatened with this fate a few days ago: he bobbed in front of the rocks with almost no pressure in the sail, the next wave always breathing down his neck. But with a series of elegant tacking manoeuvres - and a bit of luck - he got off lightly. His successful escape is being duly celebrated in the comments on Facebook!

Riding with your back to the sail, in the boom, on the edge: Pierre Coupal shows how to surf with style on Ural equipment. The Frenchman works his magic on flat water in the classic way with a flabby triangular cloth and a centreboard. Tip: Check out his Instagram account, where Pierre has plenty of classic freestyle clips - including on the Windsurfer LT!
