Many people who have been reading surf magazine for a long time and have been infected by the windsurfing virus know that they are practising the best sport in the world. But they also know that it's a sport that you can't learn quickly via an app and that it takes time, passion and sometimes even suffering. For windsurfers of all levels, no matter how good they are, the days when it feels like nothing is going right are omnipresent. On the other hand, the moments of happiness on the best days are indescribable. The first few metres standing upright on the board with the wind in your hands, the first tack or jibe remain unforgettable in your brain and motivate you to keep going. Then the first glide - a milestone in every windsurfing career! And even after that, the eternal ascent doesn't end: the power jibe - the Holy Grail of windsurfing - is just another stopover in the life of a windsurfer. This is followed by jumps over small chops, riding a wave or a first freestyle manoeuvre.

Perhaps you take part in a regatta at some point, come last, but set yourself the goal of leaving at least half the field behind you the next time. All these experiences make windsurfing a very special sport - for quite a few people it mutates into a way of life that mentally determines their entire everyday life - with all the advantages and disadvantages, for example for a relationship.

All these facts make it clear to us that we remain intermediates throughout our windsurfing lives. And that should be a comfort to all those who are commonly labelled as intermediates after their surf course and who despair in frustration at the minor or major hurdles of windsurfing. Let me tell you, you are not alone and the day will come when you move up to the next higher league. And then don't shy away from celebrating this promotion as appropriately as HSV celebrated their return to League 1. In this special, we provide you with lots of practical tips to help you stay ahead in the promotion race and celebrate lots of great promotion parties:
