Another new event on the PWA calendar just before the end of the season. In November, the slalom juniors will be competing in Turkey - separately for Finn and Foil.

For many years, Alaçati in Turkey was a standard stop on the PWA tour, and now the juniors are back on the starting line there. The PWA has confirmed that an event will be held at short notice from 16 to 20 November. Unlike the pros, the juniors will compete separately in fin and foil.

"Following the success of the junior events in Gran Canaria and Denmark, we are delighted to be able to add another World Cup to the calendar," said the PWA. "We want to develop a strong foundation for the sport. This event will play an important role in helping the next generation of racing to develop."

The separation of fin and foil could be a test run for possible rule changes for the pros. In 2020, the slalom discipline was opened up to both variants. However, the rapid focus on foils meant that racing with fins fell somewhat out of favour.

His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
