The Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) is entering the 2025 season with a new leader! The public search for candidates for the positions of CEO and event management was successful. A new tour manager has been appointed in the person of Katrine Kock Frandsen from Denmark and a new CEO has also been found, whose name cannot yet be disclosed for labour law reasons. Both are expected to provide new momentum in the World Cup.

"Following an extensive selection process, we are delighted to welcome Katrine Kock Frandsen as our new PWA Tour and Events Manager," said a statement from the PWA. "Katrine brings a lifetime in our sport and more than a decade of leadership experience in organising world-class events, including several successful PWA World Cups. Her broad skill set, fresh energy and deep passion for windsurfing and the environment make her the perfect fit to help us continue to develop and innovate our association and the sport around the world." In the past, Katrine has been involved in the organisation of the well-known Waterz Festival in Hvide Sande, among other things. Katrine herself says in the press release: "I am thrilled to join the PWA team as Tour and Event Manager. I'm looking forward to working with all our members, crew, organisers and the global windsurfing community."

We are confident that Katrine's leadership will bring a fresh perspective and new opportunities for the PWA and the sport of windsurfing."

The new PWA management, like tour manager Rich Page before them, will take care of the organisation and implementation of the World Tour on a full-time basis and plan the events with the local organisers. The honorary Management Board around President Nico Prien will remain the supreme authority of the PWA Drivers' Association. "We would like to take this moment to express our gratitude to the volunteer management board, who have worked tirelessly during this transition period," said the organisation. "Their dedication has been instrumental in maintaining the high standards of the PWA while paving the way for this next chapter. We are confident that Katrine's leadership will bring a fresh perspective and new opportunities for the PWA and the sport of windsurfing, and we look forward to continuing this journey together."
