The best pictures from the World Cup in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife! Wave, slalom and freestyle action from the Canary Islands tour!

Three events in five weeks - the Canary Islands Tour is the highlight of the PWA season and plays a key role in deciding who gets to hold up a world championship trophy at the end of the year. This year, the Canary Islands were finally once again packed with windsurfing action like in the best of times: Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife - three full scores, all disciplines represented and almost always windy!

It started with an epic weekend in Pozo, even hardened locals couldn't remember when it had been so windy. When even Philip Köster reaches for the 3.4, you know it's blowing! The windy conditions continued on Fuerteventura, with spectacular races in the Slalom X followed by an extremely exciting freestyle elimination for men and women. On Tenerife, on the other hand, the wind demanded a lot of patience, but in the end there were still results in Slalom X and Waveriding.

Even though the season is far from over, three World Championship titles have already been awarded on the Canary Islands: Sarah-Quita Offringa took overall victory in freestyle and slalom X on Fuerteventura - both disciplines only have this one event on the calendar for women. Pierre Mortefon won both Slalom X classifications on Fuerteventura and Tenerife, thus also defending his World Championship title.

We have rummaged through the photo databases of the Canary Islands World Cups and show you the best pictures from five weeks of pure windsurfing action in the gallery above!

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
