In the original PWA calendar, a slalom event was planned for May or June in Marignane in the south of France. This has now been postponed to 2024, after a date in autumn was initially on the cards. The reason given was scheduling problems with France's sailing federation FFV.
"After further consultations with the FFV, the sponsors and the local organiser, it was not possible to agree on a date that would suit all partners with good prospects of sufficient wind," reads a statement from the PWA. "In the interests of the long-term success of the event, it was decided to focus instead on a successful event in the first half of 2024."
The next World Cup on the agenda is the slalom event on Lake Garda from 10 to 14 May, followed by the IWT/PWA event in Fiji at the beginning of June, before heading to Pozo at the beginning of July - with a slalom for the first time in many years!
