In the 2025 season, freestylers on the PWA World Tour will be showing off numerous brand new moves and combinations. In this video, they explain their moves, from double combos to the first triple power move in tour history. Balz Müller talks about the conflict between innovation and competition.

Despite only two freestyle events, the PWA World Tour 2025 brought a wave of new manoeuvres. Riders such as Balz Müller, Lennart Neubauer, Yentel Caers, Maaike Huverman and co. presented double moves, unusual combinations and, for the first time in the history of the tour, a triple power move.

In this new clip from the PWA, all the new moves are collected, the riders themselves give an insight into the creation of their tricks and explain what inspired them to develop the new moves - from the initial idea to the realisation in competition. The development shows how freestyle windsurfing is evolving technically and what boundaries the athletes are pushing this season. The question of the upcoming 2026 season is already looming: what tricks will be possible then if the level continues to rise?

Innovation meets competition

Balz Müller talks about the tensions between technical development and competition strategy. Balz gives an outlook on moves he is working on for the new season. The balance between the risk of new tricks and the need to score points in the contest is a concern for many riders. While some athletes rely on tried and tested combinations, others dare to take the step towards completely new movement patterns.
