"The Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) and the Wave World Tour (WWT) are pleased to announce that they will continue to work together under the umbrella of the Unified Windsurf Wave Tour for the 2026 season," announce the PWA and WWT. Next year's 2026 wave calendar will consist of six 5-star events and one 4-star event.
In 2026, the PWA also wants to work more closely with the IFCA ("International Funboard Class Association") to strengthen the discipline of racing, with both organisations taking a joint step towards stronger and more uniform race execution. With nine events now spanning Europe, the Caribbean and Asia, the partnership will be driven by a shared desire to deliver a bigger, more attractive tour calendar. By aligning event dates, technical frameworks and key sporting principles, the collaboration should help to reduce calendar clashes, avoid unnecessary duplication and provide greater clarity for riders, organisers and manufacturers alike. Also exciting: a foil freestyle event is to be held in Qatar for the first time in 2026 as part of the PWA World Tour. Here is the PWA's provisional tour calendar for 2026:
Not all dates have been confirmed yet, the tour calendar but is already whetting the appetite for the start of the regatta season.
