The next generation of slalom racers were able to let off steam at two events in the Caribbean. Sisters Bobbi-Lynn, Kit and Lone De Jong dominated the girls' event, while Brendan Lorho won the boys' event.

Originally, the forecast for the 2024 Bonaire Youth Slalom PWA World Cup did not look very promising, but in the end 14 eliminations were held over three days.

De Jong sisters dominate the girls' competition

Bobbi-Lynn De Jong won the previous Junior Word Cup in Aruba. The 14-year-old continued her perfect start to the season on Bonaire with an almost flawless performance in which she won 14 of the 15 heats.

Bobbi-Lynn's closest rival was her sister Kit De Jong, who won the U15 ahead of her twin sister Lone De Jong. However, Lone was narrowly beaten in the overall standings by Louise van der Meulen in the battle for third place and finished fourth.

Double victory for Brendan Lorho

Just like Bobbi-Lynn De Jong, Brendan Lorho can also claim a Caribbean double victory on Aruba and Bonaire. Although Lorho was not quite as confident as Bobbi-Lynn, he still managed to win 12 of the 15 eliminations.

In addition to Lorho, Hugo Dohmen from Sweden and Joa van den Berg from the Netherlands also travelled to Bonaire from Europe, while Lilia Yelland from the UK mixed up the girls' Caribbean locals.

Benedikt Emser wins foil in Aruba

The juniors also competed in Aruba at the beginning of May. There was also a foil competition there, which was won by Benedikt Emser from Germany. He won six out of eight foil races, with Brendan Lorho in second place.
