The perfect end to a week full of action: on the last two days of the Youth Windsurf Wave & Slalom World Cup, there were more fin and foil races in Thisted. On the penultimate day, the foilers took to the course in front of the Kabel Park, followed by the fin divisions. Particularly impressive was the performance of Bobbi-Lynn de Jong, who dominated both the U21 Foil and U21 Fin Girl's Divisions to take the double victory.
The foilers opened the penultimate day of competition and made the most of the good conditions. The fleet completed five full laps - the daily maximum. In the U21 Foil Girl's Division, Bobbi-Lynn de Jong put in an outstanding performance and dominated the field. Her sister Kit De Jong and Louise van der Meulen fought a close duel behind her, with Kit gaining the upper hand thanks to aggressive starts and flawless racing.
In the U21 Foil Boys, the Frenchman Tom Nicolle showed a tactical masterpiece. With precise reading of the gusts, he kept Matthijs Pos at bay in every heat. The Dane Kasper Friis Nielsen also showed solid form and secured third place with constant speed and good positioning. In the U17 Foil Boy's Division, the Dane Gustav Permin dominated from the very first start. With his deep local knowledge and calm control, he held the lead throughout, while the Pole Adam Kelar fought hard but had to make do with second place. Max-Emil Krogh Schmidt secured third place with a strong finish.
When the wind remained constant, it was time for the fin racers to take to the water. In the U21 Fin Girl's Division, Bobbi-Lynn de Jong secured her second win of the day. Once again, Louise van der Meulen and Kit De Jong fought a close duel for second place. Brendan Lorho was in a class of his own in the U21 Fin Boys. Anton Richter and Storm Nicolai fought hard, but were unable to keep up with Lorho's pace.
In the U17 Fin Boy's division, Aytun Ustel impressed with explosive starts and surgical precision, while Adam Kelar and Sonjte Alberto fought hard for the remaining podium places. In the U15 Fin Boys, a thrilling duel developed between Arxon Gomperts and Dane Victor Schulz-Jakobsen, who shared the lead throughout the day, with Gomperts' experience ultimately giving him the advantage. Unfortunately, Mika Henning had to retire due to a broken wrist.
The last day of competition began in a more relaxed manner with a skipper's meeting at 11.00 am in the cable park in warm, summery conditions. While the morning was still calm, the wind picked up in the afternoon so that a few foil slalom races could be held from 14:00. The race organisers then tried to switch to fin slalom, but unfortunately the wind did not stabilise sufficiently and the races in this discipline had to be postponed.
In the U17 Boy's Division, the Dane Gustav Permin delivered an outstanding performance on home waters. With perfect starts and confident jibes, he secured victory ahead of Adam Kelar from Poland and his Danish compatriot Max-Emil Krogh Schmidt, who both showed impressive speed and consistency. In the U21 Boys category, Tom Nicolle from France dominated the fleet with explosive acceleration and absolute control over the entire course. He was closely followed by Matthijs Pos from the Netherlands, whose technical precision kept the pressure on.
In the U21 Girl's Division, Bobbi-Lynn De Jong from Bonaire continued her winning streak and took another victory. Kit De Jong secured second place, while Louise van der Meulen completed the podium with a confident and fast finish in the final heats. D
