It was finally time for the junior slalom team to start at the World Cup in Cold Hawaii. Once again there was plenty of wind from the south-west, so the entourage once again travelled to Thisted, where they raced on the Limfjord in front of the cable park. The first discipline on the programme was foil slalom. The conditions made it possible for the entire fleet to complete two full laps of the foil slalom. The participants fought intense battles for every position on the course.
Matthijs Pos leads the boys' U21 category, while Kit de Jong outdistanced her older sister Bobbi-Lynn in the girls' category. Gustav Perimn leads the U17 category, with Mika Henning in third place.
After completing the second round of the Foil Slalom, the wind picked up even more, so we switched to the Fin Slalom. While some riders mastered the difficult conditions perfectly, others struggled with the combination of strong winds and choppy water. Despite the increasingly challenging conditions, two complete laps were also completed in the Fin Slalom. After crashes, some participants had to be collected by boats, which is why the race organisers decided not to start any more heats.
Louise van der Meulen is in the lead in the U21 category, followed by Kit and Bobbi-Lynn de Jong. In the boys' category, Thijs Hanemaaijer leads ahead of Storm Nicolai and Diederik Leemans. Aytun Ustal is in the lead in the U17 category, while Victor Schulz-Jacobsen is ahead of Mika Henning in the U15 category.
