With two good and two bad races, Sebastian Kördel slipped to third place. Theresa Steinlein is within striking distance of the top 10 in the women's race.

Sebastian Kördel dropped back to third place in the overall standings with two strong and two weak races at the Sailing World Championships in The Hague on Tuesday. In the last race of the day, Kördel crossed the finish line in first place, having previously achieved two strikes and a fourth place with 31st and 27th place.

The defending champion said: "The mistakes were on my side today and were at the starts. But everything is fine with the overall standings. I hope that we can start late tomorrow. The wind should then pick up again so that we can get a few races in." On the second day of racing for the iQFoilers, all fleets also had to contend with weak winds and strong currents in the area off Scheveningen. Luuc van Opzeeland and European champion Nicolo Renna are currently ahead of Kördel. Fabian Wolf is in 29th place.

The women were also able to start the race for the World Championship title and the first Olympic tickets on Tuesday. Five races were on the scoresheet at the end of the day, and the conditions were challenging here too. Great Britain's Emma Wilson is in the lead with a strong performance, followed by Helene Noesmoen from France and China's Zheng Yan in second and third place. The best German is currently Theresa Steinlein with a strong eleventh place, she even won one race. Alisa Engelmann is in 42nd place, Lena Erdil is 48th and Helena Wanser is 65th. The medals in the Olympic fleets will be decided at the Sailing World Championships in The Hague from 17 to 20 August. In the iQFoil, the heats are only decisive for qualification for the Medal Races; the final placings will only be decided there.
