Only the small waveboards had to stay on the beach and are still waiting to be used at the 2026 Surf Festival powered by SALITOS. But everything that can be ridden in light winds was on the water on Friday. Bright sunshine meant that the fresh breeze was temporarily forgotten, creating an almost summery feeling as long as you didn't get caught in the shade.
The children were the least hesitant to get into the fresh Baltic Sea, as all the children's taster courses organised by surf and Saltwater were fully booked. Surf editors Manuel Vogel and Julian Wiemar showed them their first steps on the board, and some of them couldn't get out of the water. In the afternoon, windsurfing legend Björn Dunkerbeck came along for an extra dose of motivation. The slightly older kids at Dennis Müller's camp and the Racer of the Sea participants were also on the water for most of the day, even though the wind was only at its lowest limit. But everyone is already looking forward to tomorrow, Saturday, when the wind is expected to blow at 20 knots and more.
But there is also plenty to discover on the festival site: The iconic adventure cars from Ineos, monowheel test track and skateramp, vanlife accessories from Bent or even entire bullis from Skycamper can be seen on the south beach. The latest Insta360 models will be available to try out at the Stoked Zone stand - you can then take the photos with you! There will also be a large selection of surf fashion from Noorlys to Salty Heads and Van One. Hifly not only has the official festival shirt, but also several new designs with windsurfing and beach motifs.
And to recover, tired legs can be regenerated in the Blackroll Recovery Boots. For a restful sleep, there are also other Blackroll products such as pillows or special blankets at the stand - and of course the legendary rollers!
