Even a heavy downpour on the morning of the final day couldn't spoil the picture - the other days were simply far too good for that. And even on Sunday, the sun came out again at midday and brought another light breeze for some light wind fun. A total of 35,000 visitors came to Fehmarn, said co-organiser Torsten Schulze, and almost 1,000 people registered for the test run.
NDR also attended the surf festival on Fehmarn and featured a report in the Schleswig-Holstein Journal:
One person who was there for the first time on Fehmarn was Bertalan Csik from Mojo Customs. "I knew there was a great surf scene in Germany, but I couldn't believe how many interested people were there," said the shaper from Hungary. "Many thanks to the organisers, it was great fun to be there!"
"It's great to see how big this event has become over the last 23 years," said surfing legend Björn Dunkerbeck, who also came to Fehmarn this year. "I've been here many times, I've surfed around the island three times on a record hunt. This year I'm here as patron of the Saltwater Surf courses, among other things. We have given almost 100 children their first taste of what I think is the best family sport in the world. In the best windsurfing and summery T-shirt weather, I was delighted to see how windsurfing as a family sport is really lived out here. I saw happy faces on everyone. From 6-year-olds to 76-year-olds, all age groups and disciplines of windsurfing were represented. Fehmarn is particularly suitable for all types of water sports due to its location."
