Surf Festival: Lucas Nebelung wins Tow In, Dunkerbeck promotes young talent

After yesterday's windy day (and the party with Lina Erpenstein at the DJ booth), Saturday got off to a leisurely start at the surf festival. No wind, but plenty of sunshine and good humour among visitors and exhibitors.

Björn Dunkerbeck looked after the children at the Saltwater Kids Camp, of which the legend is the patron. Dunki took part in some of the courses and showed the children their first steps in windsurfing. Dunkerbeck also gave tips to the participants of Dennis Müller's Kids Camp and answered questions from the highly motivated young windsurfers in the surf tent.

In the evening, there was more action on the water: at the Tow In of the German Freestyle Battles, the six finalists who had prevailed in the heats in the afternoon were able to show three moves each. The beach was packed and every run was cheered with loud applause. Two newcomers, Elena Dominick and Arne Jörn, also took part, but in the end it was Niclas and Lucas Nebelung who took the win. For the first time, Lucas took victory ahead of his older brother, who was a little weakened by a knee injury.

In the freestyle battles "with wind", who were able to ride a single elimination yesterday and celebrated their victory on the big stage today, Niclas was ahead of Lucas, with the two taking third and fourth place. Foivos Tsoupras came second, with Leon Struppek taking the win. The Racer of the Sea also celebrated its award ceremony. Fabian Wolf won the mixed class ahead of Alexander Neubert and Vincent Langer, while Marco Lang won the fin ahead of Justus Schott and Leo Richter.
