Surf festivalTow-In, Dunki film and workshops - that was Saturday on Fehmarn

There was a lot going on at the surf festival: star guest Björn Dunkerbeck showed his film and looked after the youngsters, the freestylers provided action at the tow-in and the sun put the visitors in a good mood.

The only thing that could have made Saturday at the 2024 Surf Festival even better would have been a touch more wind. But even with just a few knots, plenty of visitors took to the water with large equipment, SUPs or wings to enjoy the light wind fun. The boot Düsseldorf pump foiling challenge was for the experts, with Sebastian Gux coming out on top in the end.

On land, the focus today was on Björn Dunkerbeck, who had come to Fehmarn from Defi Wind to present his film "Born To Windsurf". Björn spent the whole day signing autographs and talking to people on the south beach, motivating surfing students and taking questions from the participants of Dennis Müller's Kids Camp. On stage, Dunki also drew the winners of the We One board and the GunSails voucher.

The German Freestyle Battles then provided action on the water with a tow-in session in the evening. After the qualification round, which took place at lunchtime away from the hustle and bustle of the test, the best six riders competed in the evening directly in front of the stage. Three moves each were frenetically cheered on by the crowd on the beach, with Niclas Nebelung coming out on top ahead of Jannes Thomsen and Foivos Tsoupras.
