As always, the day started with a well-attended yoga session by Sascha Lange

A day like a painting: Friday made everyone happy at the surf festival on Fehmarn. Wind for testing, mild temperatures and even sunshine in the afternoon. It was crowded on the water and the equipment store on the beach was almost empty.

When the wind picked up again in the late afternoon, the queues at the exhibitors' hire stations got longer and only the really big sails were left on the beach. Otherwise, everything that was reasonably buoyant was on the water. A lot of testers had already taken to the water in the morning with the first breeze, although it was still a little cloudy. When the sun came out in the afternoon, it turned into a real picture-book day that couldn't have been better suited to the surf festival.

The kids at Dennis Müller's camp were on the water for most of the day, the free surf courses organised by the German Armed Forces were fully booked and the boot Düsseldorf Pump Foil Station was very busy throughout. From midday onwards, the Racers of the Sea also took to the starting line far away from the test centre, and several heats were held until the evening. There was also enough wind for the German Freestyle Battles - a detailed report on both contests will follow later!

Representatives from several brands presented their new products on the stage, and surf editors Manuel Vogel and Julian Wiemar once again gave tips on equipment and riding techniques. In the afternoon, Björn Dunkerbeck arrived on Fehmarn - directly from the (unfortunately windless) Defi Wind.

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
