The first harbingers of winter have been in the shops since September, signalling that the days are slowly getting shorter. What speculoos, stollen and chocolate Santas are to non-surfers, the fresh waveboards of the new year are to us. And as we do every autumn, we tested the 2025 models extensively on the North Sea and Baltic Sea, but for the first time with a special focus: which type and which size makes sense for the different types of surfers? Would it be better to take the small all-round waveboard or the radical model, but one size bigger? We tested five unequal pairs of siblings to see how big the differences are!
However, those who would rather escape the German autumn will find three fascinating destinations for different needs in the new surf: Would you prefer some adventure and wild nature? Would you prefer a quiet and mild off-season holiday in the Mediterranean? Or all-round service windsurfing in summer temperatures? We have tips for all those who want to get away again!
No matter what time of year, the water start is the gateway to sportier boards and a quick restart if you ever lie down in the pond. However, depending on how the board and sail are positioned in the water, the path to the starting position can sometimes be tedious. We'll show you how to align your board and sail quickly and effortlessly from different positions and then lift yourself elegantly back onto the board!
