From the mega waves in Cloudbreak to the idyll of the Danish South Sea, from heating with freerace boards to feather-light freestyle sails, from the surf film "The Investor" to the indie contests of the German Freestyle Battles - the new surf is as multifaceted and diverse as our sport! Take a look inside!

Paradise is almost literally on your doorstep: while Denmark's top spots on the North Sea are often full, you are often almost alone on the water on the islets around Funen. And the name Danish South Sea is not so wrong: shallow bays with beautiful beaches, friendly locals and a slightly adventurous flair await on the other side of the Baltic Sea. We introduce you to the most beautiful spots!

Leon Jamaer reports from the "real" South Seas: he was at the World Cup in Fiji and talks about an unusual event in a paradisiacal setting - but one that can quickly set your teeth on edge. With his victory in Cloudbreak and incredible aerials, the young Frenchman Baptiste Cloarec has amazed the windsurfing world. In this interview, we get to know the shy newcomer better!

Fresh tests: freerace and freestyle

The somewhat capricious wind on Lake Garda only allowed us to make well-founded test judgements for five freerace boards in the previous issue. In the meantime, we have driven the remaining four test candidates over the Brenner Pass again and were able to gather enough impressions. Find out how the Goya Bolt, I-99 Grand Tour, RRD Firestorm and Tabou Rocket+ fared in the test!

We also took the latest freestyle sails out on the water. Six models were ridden in Großenbrode, jibed, ducked, jumped and reefed for all they were worth. The testers explain in the new issue that the sails can do much more and are not just interesting for tricksters! And if you want to learn your first freestyle moves yourself, Julian Wiemar shows you the secrets of the backwind jibe!

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
