In the new issue we show you eight great spots on Ringkøbing Fjord, the best riding technique for light winds, great pictures from Spain and Japan and much more!

The Ringkøbing Fjord doesn't tend to have any deserted secret spots; the almost-lake on the Danish west coast is one of the most popular windsurfing destinations in Europe. But at the eight spots in our big guide, you will find perfect freeride conditions for all wind directions on the water and an ideal infrastructure on land with shops, centres, car parks and more! Everyone from beginners to jibing students to ambitious riders will be happy - plus there are crisp waves on the North Sea and plenty of tourist highlights for a family holiday!

Speaking of families: inflatable SUPs with a windsurfing option are known to be the perfect water toy for all levels. Children can gain their first windsurfing or winging experience or simply splash around, while adults can cruise in light winds with a sail or paddle a tour. The eight windSUPs we tested for the August issue included some top all-rounders!

And if the wind weakens in the middle of a summer session and there's absolutely no gust of wind to make a water start possible, a good light wind technique will help. surf editor Julian Wiemar shows you tricks to get back on the board, bob home and maybe get gliding again with the next breeze!

Also in the August issue of surf:

  • Test thin booms: You don't have to go along with every slimming craze. With booms, however, you should definitely pay attention to the slim line
  • Road trip northern Spain: Many windsurfers dream of lonely waves and empty spots. Frithjof Blaasch found them - only stupid if you've forgotten your harness at home
  • Treat small wounds correctly: Harmless scratch or harbour for dangerous infections. Play it safe and protect yourself from nasty surprises with these tips
  • Jono Dunnett surfs around Japan: First around Europe, now around Japan - the Brit is looking for the ultimate challenges on his surfboard
  • Interview Francisco Goya: After his successful career in the World Cup, the style master from Argentina is shaking up the market with his board and sail brand. Has he become a tough businessman as a result?
