The new surf is here, packed full of exciting topics: Boards for intermediates and light wind freeriders, great spots in Germany and Sardinia, personal interviews with two World Cup stars and much more!

For many, the holidays are just over. Anyone who took a surfing course on holiday and is now fully gripped by windsurfing fever will want to use the late summer and autumn weekends to get out on the water as much as possible. Large freeride boards are particularly suitable for this. We have tested eleven boards that will accompany you on your first steps after your surf course as well as on your first power jibes, planing rides, loop and trapeze surfing. In short: the ideal candidates for "My first board". But advanced windsurfers should also take a look at the models, as some candidates are also excellent light wind freeriders for heavyweights.

And then where to go windsurfing? In our spot guide, we introduce you to the Müritz - Germany's largest inland lake with lots of different spots, idyllic landscapes and plenty of unspoilt nature. Many spots are located right next to campsites and are therefore ideal for "from bed to board"!

Things were a little less idyllic at the World Cup in Pozo in July, but rather rough and tumble. Two people from different generations were particularly in the spotlight: Daida Moreno announced the end of her career after 18 World Cup titles and 22 victories in Pozo. Shortly after the event, Lina Erpenstein met the "Queen of Pozo" for an in-depth and very personal interview. Marino Gil, on the other hand, is just getting started. The 20-year-old pozo local has already attracted attention in recent years with breathtaking jumps, and now he has made it all the way to the super final in second place. In this surf interview, he talks about his plans and how he wants to get to the top!

Also in the new issue:

  • Master shore break, recognise danger: We show you how to safely overcome shore surf and recognise dangerous currents
  • Sun protection: what else you can do or wear to protect yourself from excessive sunlight in addition to applying sun cream
  • Sardinia West: Only very few surfers will be familiar with the name Mari Ermi. We introduce you to the flat water spot in the west of the island in more detail
  • Youngster with a plan: young talent on the way to the top - youngster Linus Heuer asked three of his team-mates about their goals and problems
  • PWA World Cup Fuerteventura: The Grand Slam in Sotavento saw action in slalom and freestyle from the first to the last day
  • Foil tuning workshop: More power or simply to stop the annoying whistling - Klaas Voget shows you where to apply the sandpaper

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
