With slalom, course racing and even long distance, the race organisers from Surfclub Flensburg, led by Leon Delle, set up many different disciplines over the course of the regatta. "What was particularly remarkable was that the decisions in all age and performance categories were only made in the final heats - it was exciting right up to the finish line!" said the organisers happily
A real highlight was the introduction of live tracking directly on the beach, which, according to the organisers, was used for the first time at a youth event of this kind: "Spectators and families were able to follow the races in real time, just like the professionals in the World Cup - a milestone for youth surfing." The organisers also went full throttle off the water: a large paddock with delicious food, a strong social media presence with great clips and photos and an atmospheric disco on the final evening ensured a great atmosphere.
"We are thrilled with the energy, talent and fairness shown by the young athletes," said Hannes Petersen, 1st Chairman of Surfclub Flensburg. "This weekend has shown how much potential there is in the next generation."

"I'm very happy, of course! In the end, Gustav and I both deserved to win - it was extremely close. It was very gusty, almost like a game of poker. Whoever caught the right side had a really good chance. "
"Yes, it was really exciting right to the end. I think the wind was a decisive factor. I tend to be light and that gave me an advantage in the changeable conditions."
"The slalom races suited me much better than the course races - I could really step on the gas there. I had a lot more trouble in light winds. It was difficult to find the right rhythm and maintain a constant speed. It wasn't easy, but I gave it my all and I'm proud that it was enough for the title in the end."
