You will only be foiling during the day and pitching a tent at night. At this time of year, they can expect cool night-time temperatures and low pressure systems typical of autumn that move across the North Sea. If the wind speed exceeds 20 knots, they no longer want to go out on the water and prefer to spend a day in the safety of their tent and keep warm, as they have no time pressure on the trip. There will also be no permanent support boat accompanying the boys on the tour, but they will link up with local lifeboats that can be deployed in an emergency, depending on the passage.
Together with boat builder Gustav Schwennesen, Alfred and Marinus have come up with an exciting design for transporting luggage over the last few days: A carbon plate at the tail of the boards serves as a kind of floating luggage carrier, on which they each want to transport up to 12 kilos of camping equipment and provisions. When touring on longboards, it is usual to transport luggage on the nose, but when foiling this would unbalance the board too much.
The budget for the trip totals the equivalent of around 10,000 euros, which will be used for new foils and sails at the end of the tour, but also for safety equipment and much more.
For this reason, a fundraising campaign will run for the next 25 days. Collection campaign.
The two tour surfers hope to collect 25,000 Danish kroner. So far they have reached DKK 10,000.
