"In 2000, a British kid fresh out of the Maui Ocean Academy stormed onto the PWA scene - freestyle, racing, wave - he mastered it all and took his first World Cup win in freestyle in Fuerteventura in 2003", announces the PWA's new podcast in the "Unpacking the Boardbags" series. This time's guest is Robby Swift, who has just given us a great interview. After 25 years in the World Cup, Robby said goodbye to the tour at the end of 2025 and now looks back.
Like many others, Swift thought that his first victory would be followed by many more, and the Briton naturally dreamed of the world title. But time and again, injuries set him back, and time and again he missed out on a good result at the decisive moment. But apart from the World Cup, Robby is always present thanks to his Jaws missions and lots of travelling - and wants to stay that way. Take a look - a very entertaining conversation with lots of insights into 25 years of the World Cup!
