If you ask windsurfers in their mid-30s and people who make their own surf films about their role models, this film almost always comes up. In "RIP", Robby Naish shows what was possible back then in terms of moves and quality. The master, then at the peak of his career, takes us on an individual tour of his favourite windsurfing spots on Oahu and Maui.
With impressive slalom and wave action, shot from different perspectives - on land, in the water and from the air - "RIP" draws on the full range of possibilities, drones and action cams were not even considered at the time.
The unveiling of Jaws is particularly significant historically. Back then, the Big Wave break was still a secret among Maui locals and was shown for the first time in "RIP"! The Nineties grunge soundtrack is also legendary!
