The California Windsurf Cup makes a stop in St. Peter-Ording, and in addition to the classic windsurfing competitions, the California Wingfoil Masters celebrate their premiere in SPO. The German Flatland Skimboarding Championship will also take place. The event village right on the beach offers a packed programme, topped off by an open-air indie pop concert on Friday evening. Admission to all events is free.
The third tour stop of the California Windsurf Cup 2025 once again sees Vincent Langer as the top favourite, having won the first two tour stops on Sylt and in Pelzerhaken. The multiple German, European and world champion will face strong competition in SPO. He will be joined by reigning GWA champion Fabian Wolf, who is currently working on his Olympic campaign for 2028. Lars Poggemann and last year's ranking list winner Jonne Heimann have also announced their participation.
Both foiling and fin slalom are possible in St. Peter-Ording, but there is unlikely to be a wave alarm in view of the forecast. The top three finishers in the first elimination will receive a total of 1,000 euros in prize money as the "Grand Prize of LVM Versicherung", while the LVM Youngster Trophy offers 500 euros in prize money for the best up-and-coming riders.
The California Wingfoil Masters will also be held in St. Peter-Ording for the first time. The Wingfoil Slalom discipline is on the programme in SPO. The wingers alternate with the windsurfers on the water. The German Flatland Skimboarding Championships will also take place directly in the event village. Spectators can experience the action up close on a specially constructed track and even try out skimboarding for themselves.
The Event Village forms the heart of the event. Here, visitors will find stands from partners and sponsors as well as a Van-Life Expo all about the mobile lifestyle. Free yoga sessions are offered twice a day. The legendary surfer parties take place every day, with DJs such as Nikki Musik and Kevin Kalder. The highlight is the big indie pop open air concert on Friday evening directly on the North Sea beach. The band Ottolien and the DJ collective King Kong Kicks provide the atmosphere - with free admission.
