The Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) appoints Alberto Zschiesche as its new CEO. With experience in brand strategy and environmental protection, he wants to strengthen windsurfing globally, promote sustainability and shape the future of the sport. Zschiesche favours collaboration and innovation to establish windsurfing as the ultimate water sport.

The Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) has presented Alberto Zschiesche as its new CEO. With his experience in global brand strategy and marketing at multinational communications companies such as Havas and BBDO, as well as his commitment to environmental protection at Greenpeace, Zschiesche brings a clear vision, according to a statement from the PWA. His aim is to unite windsurfing, promote sustainability and strengthen the future of the sport.

Alberto Zschiesche's vision for the sport of windsurfing

Alberto Zschiesche has a clear vision of how he wants to promote the sport of windsurfing. "Our goal is to bring to life the incomparable sensation of being on the water, and convey that same feeling and the culture of our sport at the beach and via our media channels", he explains. Zschiesche strives to create a diverse, open and connected environment where windsurfers can thrive from junior to elite level. He emphasises: "That bond between windsurfers is what makes this sport unique. It’s what will carry us forward."

With Zschiesche's leadership in the areas of growth, sponsorship and sustainability, the PWA wants to start a new era. His focus is on strengthening the foundation, expanding the tour and ensuring that windsurfing flourishes across all disciplines, genders and age groups, says Zschiesche, who sees his role as contributing to the growth of what he describes as "the best sport in the world". He wants to achieve this through active collaboration, innovation and the promotion of windsurfing as the ultimate global water sport.
