On the seventh day of the Pozo World Cup, it was mainly the youngsters who took to the water in smaller waves. Another round of the men's double elimination was also held today. Meanwhile, the slalom X pilots had a well-deserved rest day.

With the high tide this morning, there was a short period of competition-ready conditions that made it possible to continue the double eliminations in the wave discipline.
The forecast for tomorrow, the penultimate day of the event, looks very similar. We will find out at the skippers' meeting at 10.30 a.m. whether the Slalom-X or Wave will continue.

Marcilio Browne continues his race to catch up

Marcilio Browne achieved the highest score of the day with 27.3 points, including a first-class stalled double with 9.25 points! Meanwhile, Adam Warchol secured the other qualifying spot in the same heat. But remember: even top riders like Browne can no longer progress further than ninth place due to the new elimination system - then it's over - because the first eight places were already accurately determined in the first round due to the new mode.

Antoine Albert won the following heat of the second round of the "small" double elimination ahead of Pozo local Carlos Kiefer Quintana - the young Spaniard fought a fierce battle with Gregory Stathapoulos for the second qualifying spot.
There was another exciting duel in the next heat, with the lead changing hands several times between Morgan Noireaux, Takara Ishii and local Moritz Mauch. In the end, Mauch secured the heat win thanks to his superior surfing, but it remained very close between Ishii and Noireaux. The Hawaiian surpassed Ishii by almost three points in the jump score after landing a decent double forward, but ultimately lost out due to the Japanese rider's better wave scores, which included a 5.62-point wave. In the final men's heat of the day, Miguel Chapuis and Lennart Neubauer progressed relatively comfortably, with the young Spaniard Chapuis winning the heat ahead of his Greek colleague Neubauer. Both riders landed excellent double loops, but Chapuis' better wave rides earned him the win.

A little later in the afternoon, the youngsters took to the water again and Sol Degrieck took another victory in the girls U18. Alexia Kiefer Quintana returned the favour in the girls U21 by winning the second final, but Maria Morales, who finished second there, deserves a special mention as she produced an excellent double loop attempt towards the end of the heat.

Boys U13, U15, U18 and U21 on the water

The first youth race of the day took place in the boys' U13 category, where Elías Antolín took his second win of the event. In the boys U15, Ryoma Sugi once again proved to be very strong, as he also secured his second victory at this event.
In the boys' U18 category, Alexander Erfurt and Fernando Sottile progressed from the first round of the double elimination, while Hayata Ishii and Marc Alonso advanced in the U21 boys' category.
