Of course, there will also be a large party tent with plenty of food and drink and DJs to get the World Cup crowd going every night!
Van life, a buzzword that has now become a philosophy of life for many people. As windsurfers, most of us already had van life in our blood before the term even existed. Independence is the top priority in our sport if you want to spend as many good days as possible on and around the water. As the new title sponsor, Citroën is presenting its new "Holidays" camper van on Sylt - the name says it all! With spacious sleeping facilities and pop-up roof, a flexible and practical interior design and an innovative, removable kitchenette, the "Holidays" could be the perfect travelling accommodation for many windsurfers. In Westerland, you can test drive the camper alongside other Citroën models. You can find more information at citroen.de
Yes, Sylt is beautiful, no question about it. But with autumn and especially winter approaching, some people are longing for a little more warmth and sunshine. That's why you can get some inspiration for a Caribbean holiday from our World Cup travel partner, the Dominican Republic. We've known since the late 1980s that the DomRep is also more than interesting for windsurfers. Last year we were there for a current spot guide:
The doctors and physiotherapists from the Surfmedizin e.V. association will not only be looking after the pros at the World Cup on Sylt, but amateur surfers can also turn to the experts. "We treat sports orthopaedic complaints of the entire musculoskeletal system," promises Chairman Dr Thomas Gangl. Anyone with a specific problem who would like advice from the surfing doctors can register at the surf magazine stand and add their name to a list. The examination will then take place in the association's "mobile health centre". The services offered include examinations, counselling, second opinions and physiotherapeutic treatment. Medication is not administered on site. The exact time of the "consultation hours" depends on the competitions on the water and will be communicated at short notice. The meeting point is always the surf stand, where interested parties are then collected by the surf doctors.
Of course, surf Magazine is also a must at the biggest World Cup. You will find us directly above the paddock on the beach. The editors will be there to answer all your questions about the magazine and the World Cup. You can also meet the stars of the scene at our stand for autograph sessions or just to have a chat. If you're quick, you can get your hands on the official HiFly event shirt as a bonus when you take out a trial subscription to surf magazine. But be quick, because we only have a limited edition with us on Sylt.
The Bundeswehr will also be back at the 2024 World Cup on Sylt and will be on the promenade with its info mobile. It's worth stopping by, as there are daily raffles for tours of the event site with a look behind the scenes of the Windsurf World Cup!
