Lennart Neubauer was able to practise celebrating today: He won the tow-in ahead of Yentel Caers and Foivos Tsoupras. There were no official competitions today.

Summer, sun, Sylt: no wind, but a packed promenade and beach! As expected, the freestyle could not be continued today at the Citroën Windsurf World Cup Sylt, nor were there any more foil races. With no conditions for freestyle tomorrow either, it is almost certain that Lennart Neubauer is the new world champion!

In order to still show action on the water, a tow-in freestyle contest was started in the afternoon behind one of the jury boats. Taking part were Yentel Caers, Takuma Sugi, Takumi Moriya, Bodhi Kempen, Lennart Neubauer and - on the foil - Balz Müller, as well as Foivos Tsoupras as a special guest.

After a warm-up, each starter was able to perform two moves and the best three progressed to the final, where they again had two opportunities to score points. The best move was counted. Balz Müller soared metres into the blue sky on the foil, but was not satisfied with his landings. Foivos caused a sensation with an impressive burner 360 on his very first attempt and was a surprise third-placer in the final. There he met Yentel Caers and Lennart Neubauer and Yentel Caers - the old and new freestyle world champions.

Unfortunately, he crashed both attempts in the final, while Yentel Caers initially took the lead with a double burner. But Lennart went one better with his last move and passed Yentel with a double culo, who was unable to stand his second attempt. Lennart, however, came ashore with dry hair as the winner - after two jumps in the warm-up and four moves in the contest!

Tomorrow there will be another chance to foil slalom. The forecast shows 13 to 16 knots from the south-east, which would at least theoretically be enough. The race starts with the skippers meeting at 9.00 am, the first start could then take place an hour later. The race committee will probably do everything they can to finish the seventh elimination in the men's race and send the women out on the water again!
