Find out what freemove boards are, what special features they have and who they are suitable for in the big windsurf board guide.

Regardless of whether the respective marketing departmentFreemove, Bump & Jump orCrossover printed on the packaging, the content is often similar: a board with the widest possible range of use! Uncomplicated heating on flat water, a basic freestyle trick like a Carving 360 and Vulcan, or a session in small Baltic waves - with these boards, everything should be possible.

This all-round appeal is also reflected in the shape characteristics: freemove boards are characterised by the following features:

Neither completely straight nor very strongly curved ground curves to ensure both manoeuvrability and good gliding properties

If you are looking for the "jack of all trades" and also want to jump, loop, do tricks and ride a few small waves in addition to flat water, you are in good hands within this group. Of course, there are also big differences between the concepts here, some brands interpret these categories more towards flat water, others build manoeuvre boards that are easy to turn. In particular, the transition to the "freestyle wave" board group is sometimes fluid. The differences can often only be determined by the board size: Everything under 100-110 litres usually goes under "freestyle wave", over 100-110 litres it becomes "freemove". As always, you can find out the details in the surf test. Only those who have a clear focus on freestyle, wave or flat water are often better off with pure freestyle, wave or freeride boards.
