Here, freestyle suitability is mixed with a good dash of sporty, crisp riding feel. For those who want it all. All in all, the Freestyle Wave is one of the most versatile boards, fun to accelerate and also fun to spock.

On landThe finish of the visible laminate on all JP boards in Pro construction is very meticulous. In the wood version of the X-Cite Ride, the wood veneer now shimmers slightly through the lacquer. The pads are thickly doubled on the X-Cite Ride and Freestyle Wave, and comparatively thin on the Super Sport for direct board contact. The strap plugs on the Freestyle Wave are orientated more inwards, on the X-Cite Ride they are very versatile and on the Super Sport they are orientated very far outwards, at least at the front.

On the waterThe JP Freestyle Wave is the manoeuvre board of the group that best combines good freestyle suitability with powerful acceleration and a snappy, sporty feel. Compared to a Fanatic FreeWave, you have to accept a few small compromises in terms of manoeuvrability. On the other hand, the board is a little more aggressive in fast planing manoeuvres and also faster in a straight line. The JP shape therefore turns out to be a versatile bump-and-jump board and less specifically designed for new-school freestyle. It jumps as lively as it is loose, flips quickly and allows air jibes like spocks. But it's also fun to do a carving 360 in between or simply go full throttle for two or three strokes.

Thanks to the optional, far inboard front strap position and the domed deck, the Freestyle Wave is one of the few boards on which you can glide as comfortably as possible even during switch moves.

surf recommendation for JP-AustraliaThe Freestyle Wave is the perfect board for manoeuvre-oriented surfers who like both carved and jumped manoeuvres and don't focus exclusively on new-school freestyle. The X-Cite Ride is particularly recommended for those moving up from larger boards into this class who want to improve their planing manoeuvres such as power jibes or duck jibes. The Super Sport is perfect for the stoker faction, who also like sleek, carved full throttle turns.
