Nine freemoveboards around 115 litres were included in the test - and no two are the same. Here we reveal which models are included and show you all the exciting details!

They are the all-rounders in every range: freemove boards around 115 litres are a tempting light wind alternative for wave riders and heavier surfers, the planing and jibing board for light intermediates or a one-board solution for many areas. Some manufacturers are orientated towards freeride, while others offer shapes with clear similarities to thoroughbred freeride boards. Waveboards into the group.

The great diversity of the group is particularly evident in the tails of our nine test candidates: From a simple rounded shape to moderate diamond tails and sometimes very pronounced swallowtails, everything is included. The test candidates also differ underwater: Whilst some manufacturers rely on thrusters, others only install the necessary boxes but include a single fin. Others only have the option of a single fin.

We have the boards at our Test on Tobago tested in all conditions from light wind to well powered, with sails from 5.6 to "big lobes" with 7.2 square metres - which almost all candidates can handle without any problems. You can read the full test in surf 3/2026 and soon here on surf-magazin.de! You can see all the boards and details in the gallery above!

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
