On land: Especially in comparison to the 3S, the Rocket has a very stretched, rather straight outline. Three strap positions allow real manoeuvre trim, an all-round position and sporty race tuning. Compared to the 3S, the pads are also slightly thinner and have a very large surface area. The 30 mm fin in the tail is more performance-orientated than manoeuvre-orientated.
On the water: The deep concaves in the planing area of the Rocket promise a lot of damping and the board does not disappoint. At first, when bobbing, the Rocket seems a little smaller and more tippy, but the board follows the best planing speed. Only when accelerating in the first few metres (and only in the lower wind range) does it briefly give way to the super gliders Hawk and Cross. But only to then turn up to full speed, at top speed it is right at the front and when the conditions become difficult, you are still right on the throttle on the Rocket when most other boards have to capitulate. Not only the pleasant damping, but above all the stable planing position reduces the fear factor at top speed in choppy water, you can simply hold the sail tighter for that decisive moment even in gusts. Will the rude awakening come in the jibe? Not at all. The board whizzes through the turn as nimbly as it does fluidly, smaller chops are gently cut up by the edge and you can still vary the turn radius nicely even after initiating the turn. Top with so much high-wind performance: the Rocket can also be made fast very comfortably with three straps thanks to the heavily rounded deck.
