Boho stands for "Boys of Holland", and the boys also make it clear where they come from in the - rather sparse - design of their boards. Behind the brand are Geert Wesseling and Pieter van Wijngaarden, who also run a webshop for historic windsurfing equipment under the name "Good Ol' Boards". Boho is now launching a complete package for regatta fans. "The Boho 370 Race was born out of a growing demand for a race board, but executed in modern material," says Geert, describing the idea behind the new label. "After much deliberation and comparison, we decided to approach Peter Thommen with our idea. He ultimately came up with the design, the shape and the prototype."
The Boho Race is 374 cm long, 68 cm wide, has a volume of 274 litres and, according to the manufacturer, should weigh 16.5 kg. "The board has a sandwich construction and quad concaves, which makes it fast and manoeuvrable," says Geert, describing the shape. There are also three sails measuring 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5 square metres, which are said to have been specially developed for the new race board. When it comes to production, Boho focuses on quality, "only the best is good enough if you want to enter the raceboard world," says Wesseling.
The Boho board is intended to close the gap between the Tahé Techno and other race boards in the regatta sector. "The Boho is a good next step for surfers who have grown too big for the Techno but can't yet make the transition to the expensive race boards. That's why we've launched a programme to make the transition easier and more affordable," promises Geert Wesseling. The board costs 3995.00 euros, the sails between 799.00 euros and 899.00 euros. Boho has already celebrated its first successes on the regatta course, finishing fourth in the first test run as part of the French championships. At the 2024 Raceboard World Championships in Cadiz, Boho riders took first place in the U21 category and even second place in the women's category. "None of our riders had ever stood on the Boho before the World Championships," the suppliers assure us.
