surf recommendation: A little more demanding and sportier than a classic freerider, but more agile than the very wide freerace boards and quicker with less effort - the Ray occupies one of the last niches in the windsurfing market. An interesting concept.

On land: The Ray impresses with its particularly ergonomic deck shape in the strap area. And those who prioritise looks as well as technology will also love the glossy finish.

On the water: The Ray almost takes on a snder role: Classified as a freerace board, but not as wide as the models from JP or Starboard, which are obviously more orientated towards pure slalom boards. However, the Ray scores above all with a very successful, sporty mix of high performance and agile, easy-turning handling. On the one hand, you feel damn fast on the board, and on fast race jibes it is the best in its group. If the other, wider freerace boards can still keep up with good planing potential in wide power jibes, the Ray leaves all pursuers behind at the buoy when it comes to pulling through quickly on the inside. And even without Race mode activated, tight jibes are easier to manoeuvre between two waves on Lake Garda than with the wider boards. This puts the Ray perhaps somewhere between the classic freeriders and the tuned semi-racing bolides. A good tip for all those who are not quite sure and for surfers for whom an agile ride and fast jibes are more important than a little more planing power.
